leaving for EPM Thursday!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

My fiance and I leave this Thursday for EPM to do a "site inspection."  We are also meeting with Nayeli on Friday morning to discuss our upcoming wedding. We are so excited!! This is our 1st trip to EPM.  I will be sure to post pics as soon as we get back!  We were hoping that there would be a wedding going on while we were there, but unfortunately there aren't any!! BOO!  We come back Sunday and I believe she said there was a wedding that Monday.  Oh well!!

Oh I am soooo jealous!!! We fly out 2 months from tomorrow for our wedding there in May. You will love the resort, it is beautiful! Too bad there isnt a wedding when you will be there but that means you will have Nayeli's full attention lol

Cant wait to hear all the details & see your pics!! If you get to try the wedding cake let me know what you like best...I still have to decide on the flavor.  Hope ya have a great trip!

Oh I  am so jealous. I can hardly wait another 11 months before we go back.

I would ask Nayeli about the "day of" wedding coordination. She may shake her head and say "Yes it is all taken care of" but on the flip side some of the recent experiences haven't been getting really high marks. Also, ask her about the communication before the wedding. If you check the EPM thread on this site it is a nightmare trying to get any answers from the WC at this resort. I've read other resorts WC getting back to brides withing 24-48 hours. We've gone MONTHS without hearing an answer to 1 or 2 simple questions. Before we left on our trip we did hear from the WC for 3 weeks and we didn't even have our meals or anything confirmed until 2 days before we left for Mexico.

This is coming from an EPM bride that LOVED her wedding day, and at the same time if I had to do it again - I would definately hire an outside vendor "day-of" wedding coordinator to take care of the details (or the big items). From my experience and what I've heard from other EPM brides we hardly saw the WC the day of the wedding, and when your decorations/flowers are missing or you need help there is no WC to be found it's just really hard to give the WC a shining review.

This really stinks because the resort itsself gets an A++++ but the wedding coordination in my opinion gets a C-/D+, on the other hand being your wedding is next year you may have a new coordinator at that time and everything could be a lot smoother!

As my finace said of the wedding coordinator afterwards, "She just barely threw that one together" - not something super fun to joke about after the fact, but it may be really funny in the anniversaries to come :)

Just some things to make sure to ask about being you'll have her undivided attention for a little while during your visit.

I couldnt agree more. Love Love the resort but the WC not so much...I never saw the WC after the ceremony. I heard he brought everyone to the reception but was no where to be found when we were there & needed help. I thought he would have been the one to tell the DJ we were there & to announce us when we came in...no one was there so we just walked in - to nothing :(

Not the end of the world and by that point I needed a drink from the picture shoots!

The one thing that did bother me was that I had to get the front desk to call the WC to setup an appointment to meet & finalize and give my decor too. This was after I have been there for 3 days....waiting.  I have been wondering what would have happened if I never called to setup an appt(which was the day before)

On a positive note, they had all my stuff set up correctly and nothing was missing. But like you said you should not have to be like I wonder what will be wrong or I am surprised it went so smoothly as we both said the same things.

All in all it was a beautiful & amazing day that our guests & us will never forget!

I too cant wait to return! Our guests are even asking if we are going back for our anniversary!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
