Yes, $175 could have gone towards something else but you live and learn I guess. I am trying to cut costs anywhere possible so special flowers or shashes are not something I am really concerned about. I am not even doing party favors since my guests wont really care about them anyways and its just more stuff for them to lug around. A fan would be a good idea though for the outside beach ceremony.
I brought fans and they placed them on the chairs of the ceremony and after buying them I debated whether to lug them down there or not and it was the best thing I did everyone used them and I bought a case of them for $10 but I have to say they do an amazing job on flowers! I opted for the tropical arrangements because they were cheaper she asked me my colors and they were georgeous!

Hi! I am having second thoughts and getting cold feet LOL! My fiancé and I already put a deposit on a different resort but we are now entertaining DPB (which was our 2nd choice). Can any of you please share a rough budget for your Ultimate and/or Love Packages? I was just looking at the packages and you get way much more in DPB than in other resorts. Also, can you have an official ceremony at DPB or does it have to be symbolic?

Any info or PDF's that you may have will be truly appreciated.

Thank you,

Liz.

Hi Nena,

Yes you can have the legal ceremony at Dreams Plam Beach we are doing that one:) You can either have Pastor York or a Judge do the ceremony. The coordinators set it all up for you as well. We are actually doing our reception at the Jellyfish Resteraunt instead of the resort after a lot of swaying abck and forth but we wanted something a little different and the price actually will work out cheaper for us by doing it at the Jellyfish!

Congrats on your wedding and I am happy with our choices so far after reading so many reviews it seems like a great resort that is a little more intimate than some of the larger ones!

Question for you ladies. Out of all of our guests going we only have one guest who will be under 18, she will be 17. Is it possible to just book her as an adult? She will be staying with her parents, but the issue is that all of our guests are doing the preferred side so I wouldn't want my aunt and them to have to stay far away from us. When checking in do they check id's or anything like that or is it something we could easily get away with? She turns 18 the week after we leave punta cana.

Has anyone been able to schedule a welcome dinner and/or reception for your guests at the resort even though you are having the wedding off-site? If so, who at the resort made all the arrangements? Did you have to pay a fee?
Hi JoWil I had a welcome happy hour & dinner at DPB in June 2013. I used the lobby bar for meet & greet happy hour & welcome dinner at hibachi restaurant. I only had 22ppl that first night at resort so it was very easy to do. It didn't cost me anything extra I took advantage of all-inclusive. ;-)

Hi Nena Just FYI Pastor York was suppose to retire in July of this year. He performed my wedding this June and mentioned that to us. We were very lucky to have him the ceremony was beautiful. So, check with you WC

Hello! I'm getting married in January 2014 and its so nice to read some of the things on this forum. I can't believe that you have to pay a penalty fee to take your own decor! I guess I will just use what's on the decor list and pay. Has anyone on here used Tropical Studio as their photographer? A lot of people are mentioning HDC ? But I've been told Tropical Studio are the preferred supplier of the hotel apparently..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
