Stephp1, I love the idea of having only a cocktail hors d'ouvres rayther than the sit down dinner. My fiance and i are all about making our wedding one big party and we hink the sit down dinner may be too formal for us. I wasn't sure if they gave us the option of just cocktail and hors'douvres, were you able to speak to someone about that? Although I am still undecided as to whether we are having our wdding in punta cana  if we do we would love to have it at Dreams!

Thank you SO much!  This helped a great deal!  I got in touch with Patty as well (from the link at the top of page) and am amazed at the results compared with what I was looking at on my own.  Definitely the way to go!  I'm just so relieved that now I feel I got my guest the best rate possible.

Hi Ladies!!!

Firstly, congrats to everyone! This is such an exciting time and I am loving reading everyone's experiences!!  It also helps to know I am not the only one stressed about figuring out what to do!

I am pretty sure we are going to choose DPB for our wedding, and my ideal date is Sept 21, 2013...my only concern is weather...I know it will be beautiful there no matter what, I just get nervous...

Anyone have any experience with September weddings?

I also have talked to a family friend that is a TA, but after all of these stories I am wondering if I should go with Patty too!  I definitely want this trip to be affordable as possible for all my guests!

Oh and ladies I just got back from a site visit to about 10 different resorts in Punta Cana and I think we have all made a good decision :) We loved how everything is within a 5-10 minute walk, the rooms are really nice, grounds very well kept, great pools, restaurants looked really nice (we didn't get in any of them bc we were only doing a tour of the resort) and the coffee shop is a nice added bonus as well.  It also seems like they have a really good entertainment program and activities going on all the time.  It's going to be great!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
