Dreams Palm Beach 2013 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hey April4884~

Congrats on setting the date and choosing Dreams! I am currently working with Patty Jordan from Wright Travel Agency (official TA for BDW). She has been absolutely wonderful and very promp with responses. Essentially after contacting Patty and deciding on Dreams, she requests a group contract from Travel Impressions. We are booking 10 rooms (6 room minimum for a 'group') and once signing the contract, we were responsible for putting down a $1,000 deposit to secure the rooms. Once your guests contact the TA and commit to a room, they will then put down a $100 deposit per person and your original deposit will go towards the cost of your room instead. With this promotional contract, you are still eligible for the complimentary wedding package at Dreams. Also 1 free VIP room upgrade per 10 paid rooms; and 1 "complimentary" room per 6 rooms booked -- the complimentary room is a credit you will received after returning from your trip.

Hope this helps! I definately recommend a TA. :)

  • How is everyone working out a group rate/payment (if you don't mind me asking)?  We are looking at 20-30 people and it seems as though the only way to get our room free/upgrades is to book and pay for the whole thing at once. We are very uncomfortable with asking guests to pay us back personally for their rooms but I also hate to miss our on our free rooms.  Any input/suggestions would be extremely appreciated.  Does a TA get us the free rooms without us paying?  Does anyone have a good TA they recommend?

Hello to all the future Brides! Congratulations to all of you, I agree with you 100% that choosing the resort and wedding location is very stressful. I am still debating whether or not to stick to our plan to get married in Nassau, Bahamas or change my location to the Dominican Republic. I have been doing tons of research on the Dominican Republic and it seems as though everything is SO much cheaper than in the Bahamas. It looks as though your dollars will stretch a lot further out there. The only thing I'm concerned about is the length of travel time it takes to get there and plus we have already had some people express their thoughts and concerns in regards to choosing the Dominican Republic. I hope that if I do decide to go with a location in Punta Cana that I will be able to utilize all the expertise on these forums! happy planning =)

Hello Ladies....can anyone who has been here advise how the nightlife/entertainment is at the resort? We will have at least 10 single ppl coming and want to make sure they will have a good time as well...how was the disco/sports bar? I noticed it says there is late night snack at the buffet...what does that include & can you get drinks there late night as well? Is the lobby a big enough size to meet up and have drinks with your group? Thanks!

Hi AngelaR,

I know we are going with the ultimate package but haven't decided or discussed the reception yet. We just sent a deposit for the room block so I'm sure now the planning will begin. At first I thought I wanted to do an outdoor ceremony & reception but now I'm thinking more towards an outside ceremony and inside reception. We are looking to keep the wedding cost affordable, not having to pay extra for a dancefloor or lights sounds better to me.  Yesterday I sent her an email to touch base and see where to go from here and havent heard back yet.  Your wedding will be beautiful no matter what, whether it be poolside, on the beach or in the ballroom :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
