Hello my fellow brides! I'm a newbie and wanting anyones input on this resort for a wedding. Seriously considering it but never stayed here before. Been to Playa Del Caemen though and loved it! Thanks.

Playa is a great place for a wedding party to stay entertained and have a good time and Gran Porto is right in town.

It's a very nice property. The only con is that it doesn't sit on the most desirable stretch of beach. Sand bags and constant erosion.

Also, it is a very busy area so it's something to consider seeing as there will likely be many people on the beach during your ceremony.

      Good luck and happy planning!

I actually went to my cousins wedding at The Royal (The adults-only sister resorts to Gran Porto). Some guests stayed at the Grand Porto (those with children) and adults stayed at the Royal.

The Gran Porto was decent and directly across the street from The Royal. I saw a wedding on the beach the Gran Porto and was not impressed. The resort is pretty small, and a bit outdated. We still had a great time with our friends and family though. It really is the perfect location. The town is safe and a GREAT time! We often left the resort at night to walk into town, go to bars, lounges, etc.

My cousins wedding at the Royal was absolutely beautiful. Everyone agreed it was such a great time. They opted for the ceremony under the gazebo and beach reception.  This was great because by the evening the wind had died down on the beach. They also had their rehearsal dinner in town at a local restaurant.

I'm not sure if that was an option for you but if you have any questions, feel free to let me know!!

      Good luck.
