Hi all. My name is Victoria. I'm getting married August 2012 at Gansevoort in Turks & Caicos. I noticed there wasn't much info on here about that resort. Anyone else get married there or is getting married there? I could use all the advice & tips!!! I'm also still up in the air about it just being the two of us with an at-home reception or if we should invite our close friends & family. Help!

Thanks and happy planning to all you brides-to-be!

Hi Victoria,

Welcome to the site! Did you try "The Island Weddings" forum? I didn't find anything about my specific resort there but did manage to connect with other brides on my island. The rest of this forum is really helpful with any general destination wedding planning.

Happy planning,

Katie

Welcome!

As to Turks & Caicos, I can't help you there as I was married in Jamaica.  However, when it comes to deciding against being just the two of you or your friends and family, thats tough.  You really need to do what your heart is telling you.  I felt really strongly that I wanted my family there as they mean to much to me, but looking back it would have been really nice to just be the two of us. That being said, I dont regret having my family and friends there at all.  I guess there are pros and cons to either way you do it.  Just ask yourself if you do it just the two of you will you have any regrets about not having family and friends there.  Good luck with your decision!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
