Hi ladies, My fiancé and I have just started planning our wedding for February of 2013. We've decided to have the wedding in Costa Rica and are looking for some advice on where would be the best place in Costa Rica to have a wedding. I'm more interested in a backdrop of jungle and flowers than beaches for the ceremony. Something colorful and lively! Any advice would be great! Thnaks!

Hi Jessica,

I have the perfect destination suggestion for your wedding! Nosara, on the NW pacific coast! Its got everything you are looking for, lush Jungle, mountains, beaches, that rustic chic off the beaten path vibe!

I leave in one week for my wedding in Costa Rica.  I researched quite a few venues and will provide a full report in a couple of weeks.  We are doing a beach wedding in Tamarindo but did look at other alternatives but found it complicated because our group was over 50.  So size does matter.

One area that I've seen some photos of that has a really dramatic backdrop is near Arenal Volcanoe with the volcanoe in the background.  Amazing.

I'll let you know more soon!

Congratulations , Tropicalchick!! I hope you had the most amazing time. My fiancé and I just decided on Costa Rica for our wedding and we're looking at Tamarindo. I'd love to know where you stayed? We also have a group of 50+, so most of the boutique hotels are out. Any Info/suggestions are hugely appreciated!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
