Heidi...I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. It is always hard to lose someone, but it is even harder when there is no closure. I know you are a strong woman, and you will get through this. Just remember that there is a light at the end of your tunnel....Reggie and the baby.

Heidi - I'm so sorry to hear this! I'm not sure what the right thing to say is. But this is what ocurrs to me... Drug and alcohol addictions are so painful - for the family and also for the people with the problems, as I am sure you already know. At least your dad isn't going to suffer anymore and you can remember him and honor the father that you knew and loved. My thought and prayers are with you and your family. Please take care of yourself and you little baby!

Heidi, I am so sorry.

This brings up all kinds of emotions for me...

My mother was also an alcoholic and drug addict, and she died when I was 17 from Cirrhosis of the liver. I completely understand your mixed emotions. I never cried when my Mom died - I actually felt relief. When I try and explain that to people to this day many of them don't understand. I am just now beginning to grieve for her loss. I have two older half sisters through my Mom (we all have different dads) and we all went through some very hard times with her when she was alive.

I believe when she died she finally felt peace, and I believe this is the same for your Dad. No one wants to go on living that way, in such despair and misery. When my Dad and sister went in to see her body just after she had passed away they said all the tension had melted from her face and she looked so peaceful and young.

My thoughts are with you and your family. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Dad.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
