Hi! - Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica Bride

Hello everyone!

My name is Maria.  I am getting married at the Gran Bahia Principe in JA on Aug 28/2012.

We're having approx. 18 people coming to the wedding.

I'm trying to figure out if we should rent out the pisces (if its worth it) or try to set up reception in the gazebo

after the ceremony. I would love to have cocktail hour set up on the beach while they are setting up the gazebo.

Any ideas? or any pictures?

Thanks,

Maria

hi maria I too am getting married at GBP, currently we have 18 poeple booked and I have yet to send out the invitations :) I am planning on renting the gazebo dj and bar for our reception, as I think we will have apx 40 guests anyways i found a forum on here called, "Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides out there?" which has a ton of info from past and present brides of GBP, so just search that and you will be able to find the forum, which helped me actually choose this resort after seeing and hearing all the rav reviews and pics, good luck and happy planning :)

Hello ladies,

Just returned from our wedding at the GBP in Jamaica, everything was wonderful and you will not have to lift a finger!  We had 65 guests with us and everyone loved the week.

We brought our own photographer and you can view the pics at the below link; she was amazing!! the photos outstanding!

A few tips for the party....

We got married on the point instead of the Gazebo which was breath taking.

Dinner at the Italian the restaurant closed off the one section and had them server chicken instead of pasta, great meal!

Party was on the beach by the other Gazebo closer to the Disco by the Jerk hut, we rented the DJ, but didn't get the bar tenders, had a few go up to the Bar near the disco and they brought back 4 jugs of rum punch and beer, way cheaper!!!  DJ played till 11 and then off to the Disco lol

You have picked a great resort, any questions please let me know

Salon was great, no complaints from any of the girls

Go with an open mind and u will have no worries mon, Good Luck on your special days

Hi there, I too am getting married at the GBP but not until December.  Im very curious, I was told we only have two choices for the reception supper venue/restaurants.  Id love to rent out the gazebo for supper, did you find out if you could and how much??? We are only having 13 people so we'd like something romantic and intimate, lights, globes, candles, tool, etc. but I was told they don't provide that stuff.  Are you decorating or just having a very simple wedding??? Hope you don't mind with the questions but quite frankly am very confused over having a destination wedding!!!

Thank you,

sincerely Lisa

Try that link. Not sure if it works but search Gran Bahia and click on the thread that says Any Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay Brides Out There?

The reception can be had at the gazebo, but the dinner can be at two of the restaurants or there are other restaurants you can rent out completely!

I am bringing certain decorations. You can bring them in your suitcase but I think you don't need to go overboard with it. Check that thread, there are so many suggestions and ideas on there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
