I see there has been some discussion here about him. Any feedback would be MOST appreciated. How did you get in touch with him or his associate. Can he really officiate a legal ceremony. . I was told it couldn't be done since there is only one judge in Punta Cana.

It is weird that you were told the judge is unavailable for your date is it is in January 2013 as the judge doesn't open his agenda for 2013 until April 2012 lol..  Civil weddings can be scheduled but not confirmed until the judge opens his agenda..

On another note, my FI were actually going to use the jodge ( if he was available ) but after reading the wording for the ceremony ( it is very to the point with no emotion / also in spanish that is translated by your WC) we decided to get  married at home and book Pastor Rick York.  Once you have read his ceremony scripts you wont want anyone else to do your ceremony!  You can find reviews on here about him and on FB and they are all beyond fabulous :)

Good Luck :)

Thanks! They told me the judge was on "holiday" during the entire week I will be there. Go figure. Maybe he just announces his vacation schedule ahead of time. :D. They offered other dates, but then told me that the judge could change his mind later on. I def do not want to get there only to find out I can't be married! Lol! I will check out Pastor York. Best of luck with your wedding!! I will be a few days behind you at the Palma Real!

Rick York just did our ceremony 2 weeks ago (2/25). I set up a meeting with when we got down there 5 days before our wedding day and chatted with him about the ceremony. He lives in La Romana 1.5hrs away, but was in Punta Cana earlier that week for a few other weddings so he was able to meet with us. He says he does about 6 weddings a week - so I know he's a busy man. He shows up on time/early for everything. I wouldn't worry about a thing!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
