Now Jade 2012 Bride

Recommended Posts

Hey Kerri!

My ceremony is scheduled for 5:30...I'm starting to worry that it's too late??

I have my hair and makeup appoitnments scheduled at 2. They said that it should be enough time but I heard from another bride that they took FOREVER to do her hair and makeup so now I'm starting to worry about that too!! Heat and Humidy is horrible for my hair and makeup too so hopefully it will hold up! Have you sent Pilar your planning form yet? I'm still getting my together and have some questions but I feel like it would just be easier to talk to her about them while I am down there. Hopefully I can make last minute changes if need be. Do you know if there is another wedding on your day? I haven't seen anything about anyone else on mine (or yours for that matter) but obviously not every bride goes on the wedding websites!! :)

Just a few more weeks to go!  Hope all your planning is going well!

I was just wondering how early you made your hair/makeup appointments for?

My ceremony is at 3:30 and they suggested noon.  It just seems so early.  And then do you just sit around in your hair and makeup for an hour or two  (heat & humidity = bad news for my hair!)??   I'm on the fence :)

Would love to know how early everyone booked their appointments for!

Katie,

Our ceremony was originally scheduled for 5:30pm on the beach so thats definitely not too late!  In fact, I wish would could still do that time.  But when we moved it to the Pergola she said the latest I could do it was 3:30pm  (probably some event going on at the Mix Bar that evening).  So 3:30 it is :)   I sent my info back to Pilar about a month ago.  I had to request all the forms from here.  Luckily I knew about them from being on here.  We went back and forth a few times and I think its finally solid.  My "future" sister in law got married at Dreams Tulum last May and said she could have literally planned the whole thing during your meeting with her once you get there.  So no worries.  I am sure you can make the needed changes/negotiations once you are there.

Pilar said there was another wedding that Wednesday, earlier in the day I believe.  Thursdays are pretty popular for weddings so I would guess there is another eariler wedding on your day as well.  I plan on sneaking a peak at your wedding ;)

PS. My fiance is completely into the NHL playoffs right now.  (I am actually a Dallas Stars fan, LOL but I'll cheer on the Penguins with everyone!)

Yea I figured that there will be a ton of weddings while we are down there. It is amazing how Pilar remembers details about each and every wedding!! I'm glad to hear that 5:30 isn't too late! I will be peaking around to see your wedding...I promise I won't be in any pictures :)

We are all hoping that the Pens will still be in the playoffs and that the resort really will be showing them! My sister is super crazy when it comes to the Pens! :)

Well I am still figuring it all out but here goes:

4:30 - ceremony - First Look and Photographer wants to do some other photos of us

5:30 Ceremony and Group Pictures

6:30-7:30 Cocktail Hour

7:30- 10:30 (I think!) Reception

I think we are going to be announced at 7:30, do the champagne toast (if there are any toasts! We aren't having a wedding party so I'm not sure how that will work), dinner and then do all of the dances. Once the dances are over and it's just party time we will cut the cake. I haven't had any of that approved yet but that is what I am going on now! Hope that helps!

Thanks for sharing.  As of now my ceremony will start at 5:00, 1st toast and group photos at 5:30, cocktails at 6:00 and recep at 7:00.  I just want to make sure that I get sweet photos as the sun sets and I'm concerned that I may be cutting our newly wed shots a bit short if the recep starts at 7:00 and the sunset is around 7:20.  But I guess this is a question best answered by my photographer once I settle on one

Just remember that the sun sets in the opposite direction of the water in Riviera Maya.  So it's really hard to get sunset photos.  You'll have to ask your photographer to scope out an area ahead of time and it won't be with the water in the background.  But if you can get high enough, hopefully you can still get a beautiful view of the lush grounds with the sun setting behind you.

Definitely good to know, thank you.  I'll have to add this to my list of follow-up items to be addressed at a later date.

Hi Ladies! I am looking into Now Jade and planning to get married there Nov. 26th, 2012. Anyone able to negotiate with them? I have approx. 80 guests attending and wondering if anyone was able to negotiate certain things with them. Thank You :)

I think it depends on what you are trying to negotiate with them. I was able to swap some things that were in the package that I wasn't going to use. What are you looking to negotiate?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
