Need Costa Rica Wedding Location Advice

I'm recently engaged and have set my sights on getting married in Costa Rica. After a ton of research I have "narrowed" my choices down and need input -- good or bad -- on any of the various locations.

My goal is to find a place within an hour (or pretty close) of Liberia or San Jose airports, that isn't too expensive for my guests (Under $200 a night), moderate priced wedding packages, nice pool area to hang out in (swim-up bar a plus!) and somewhere that my friends and family will be glad they flew all the way to visit.

Initially, I was hoping to find a place that would be a one-stop shop, where they would coordinate all the details (food, drink, flowers, photographer, etc.) but if I can save some cash by finding vendors myself, I'm okay with that.

Anyway, here's the list, comment away:

* Blue River Resort & Hot Springs * Hotel Capitan Suizo * Tamarindo Diria * Sugar Beach * Hotel Bula Bula * Bahia Del Sol * Playa Hermosa Bosque del Mar Hotel * Villa del Sueno     Thanks in advance!

hi jessica! welcome to BDW.

rather than ask in your newbie thread, a better way to find answers is to search in the Costa Rica forum

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/f/100/costa-rica-weddings

there you will find much more specific info than in this thread, since most people seeing this thread are newbies too :)

happy planning!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
