Symbolic versus Legal Ceremony

Recommended Posts

HEY NOW Brides,

We deserve a nice long vacation after all of this stress of planning a wedding, huh?  I have been working with Mercy at NOW and have been getting an email once  a week or so but she never answers my questions, which is making this sooooo much harder! We have picked a date and gave the information to charge our CC for a deposit and she emails back telling us a judge isn't available for our day.  So is anyone else having problems finding a judge to marry them on the date?  Also does anyone know if you go for a symbolic ceremony if you need to be in the country 3 business days anyways? It's so nice to have a place to provide advise and support to each other as this is a stressful job.

I am chosing a symbolic ceremony as well. Per my TA a legal ceremony in Punta Cana is the biggest hassle and costs much more. Along with finding the judge, the paperwork is insane. I do not have a problem getting married right before we go and then doind the symbolic at the resort...no one needs to know. :-)

The 2 resorts I am looking at still require you there at least 2 days before the ceremony for a symbolic wedding just to be able to stragihten out all of the details for your wedding. I believe it is the resosrts discretion on how many days you should be there for a symbolic ceremony, I would ask the WC as NOW.
Hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
