Can you tell me how it works for the free wedding, is it me who sends you the amount of rooms we have booked with our wedding group or this will be done through the travel agent? On the wedding package it says 15 rooms or 105 nights can yout tell me if someone books for 2 weeks does that go towards the 105 nights?[Maria Alejandra Says:] you have to have 15 rooms per 7 nights or 105 night (no matter how many nights you have in each room), yes, if thereâ€s rooms that will be more that 7 nights that will count for the free wedding package.

awesome, thank you! I find there are so many little questions I have.. this forum is so much better than emailing the WC every day lol.

would anyone possibly have a sample menu to choose our set menu from if we decide to have a non-private dinner at one of the a-la-cartes? My fiance and his dad are SUPER picky and we want to make sure there will be enough choice that everyone will be able to have something they like.

Just know that Majestic Elegance was incredible.  We loved every part of our week.  I will post all of the details and answer all of your questions soon.

Hi PuntaBride! Last year I stayed at the Riu palace and went to visit the Majestic Elegance & Colonial while in punta cana. My fiance was more impressed by the Majestic and is insisting on staying there for our wedding, however I've read many reviews on other sites about the food being terrible. Can you help share your experience? Have you stayed at other hotels that you may be able to compare it to?

Thank you so much!

Hi There!

The food at the Majestic Elegance is far from terrible.  I LOVED the food.  I've stayed at several of the RIUs (DR, Jamaica, Aruba and Mexico) and the Majestic Elegance is just as good.  One thing I liked better was that there were more specialty restaurants than the RIU and you didn't need a reservation for all of them, which was a bonus.  I hated having to get up at 7:30 am at the RIU to book.  Also, if you find one you really like you can go back again ... no limit.  The only thing that is better at RIU is the buffet, but you will not eat at the buffet (only breakfast and lunch) at the ME only specialty restaurants because they are so good!

Another bonus is that you will have no problem finding a spot to sit at the beach or pool.  There was no reserving of chairs at the ME.  I was stunned.  You could sleep till 9 or 10 and still find a spot around the pool.  That was fabulous!  The pool is so neat too.  Don't get me wrong - I LOVE RIU.  Hence why I've been to so many.  But the ME was great!  I would go back in an instant.  My guests loved it here.

Let me know if you want any more details :)

Oh and I would pay the extra to go to the Elegance rather than the Colonial.  There is a big difference for not a lot extra.  So go for it!

Would any MC/ME give us future brides some pointers on what to do, what not to do, what worked for you and what didnt. Also, who did your makeup and hair?

Thank you

I will be using Anna Nuet when I get married in November. Her work is very good!

Here is her website: http://annanuet.wix.com/annanuethair

She also has a facebook.

I would not worry too much. We are getting married in a month and in January we only had 20 people.... right up until last week we had two more guests. We are now at 69!!! I can't tell you how unprepared we were to cater to so many people. Give it a little more time. Make arrangements for a small gathering but make sure you have some wiggle room in case you have a bunch of last minute people like we did.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
