I'm getting married Dec 4th 2013 at Majestic colonial, I'm having a beach reception at 3pm and we are still deciding on where we want our private reception . I provided a list of all the room prices for my guests traveling from Montreal and Toronto Canada and also the prices to upgrade to the colonial club 18+ section and everyone who has already booked has booked in 18+ cuz rooms and amenities look so much nicer ! I upgraded our room because I read its not guaranteed the bride and groom will get upgraded on arrival so I didn't want to be disappointed. Is anyone planning any excursions or activities for their guests? My FI read somewhere there in paintball and now he wants to do that :S

Anyone doing a bachelorette party on the resort/off resort?

The boys are doing one for sure.  They've planned to do the "free golf"  then probably drink on resort in the evening.

I need to think of something we could do on a budget or free while they are all golfing.  Then in the evening we are doing cocktails and disco probably.

Hi Vanessa!

Here is what I have so far ...

Adventure Tours and Excursions

Bavaro Runners ($90):

Explore typical villages, mountains, sugar cane plantations and enjoy lunch at a ranch. Journey through the country-side, swim into the river, go horseback riding and experience the Dominican way of life!

Zip Line ($90):

This exhilarating adventure takes you flying across the magnificent Anamuya Lake. Your naturalist guides will show you the way, helping you make the most of the adventure and unlocking the secrets of the Taino Anamuya Mountains. Adrenaline rush guaranteed!

Punta Cana Buggy ($120):

Discover the Dominican countryside driving your own buggy, going off road, and feeling intense sensations! Also relax in the warm swim at Macao Beach; then, explore a cave. A day to remember!

Aquatic Tours and Excursions

Saona ($106):

Enjoy a beautiful day going to Saona Island.  Stop at the biggest natural swimming pool of the Caribbean and swim in the breathtaking scenery.  We will welcome you to the beach with a delicious cocktail, an open bar, music, and games to enjoy with our activities team. Enjoy a great BBQ lunch buffet right on the beach.

Swim with the dolphins ($116-$190):

Swim alongside dolphins, an incredible life experience.  Enjoy varied shows, restaurants, local crafts and souvenir shops.

Bavaro Splash ($90):

Maneuver your own speedboat all along the fabulous coastline of Bavaro, where you will see the most beautiful secluded beaches as well as all the resorts on the coast.  You will then arrive at a floating platform in the middle of the ocean right next to the largest coral reef in the area.  Here you will have an opportunity to go snorkeling and discover millions of colorful tropical fish and the rainbow color of the coral reef.

Sailing Adventure (N/A):

Sail along the breathtaking Bavaro coast on a luxurious catamaran. Stop for snorkeling in the pristine waters of an unspoiled natural reef to observe the colourful fish and marvelous coral formations. Lunch is served on a private beach with a DJ for an unforgettable ambience.

Cultural Tours and Excursions

Santo Domingo ($95):

Enjoy this cultural and fascinating visit to the Capital of Dominican Republic. Visit the Colonial City, the Alcazar of Colombus, the first cathedral of the New World, the Pantheon and the first commercial street of the New World, "El Conde" and the beautiful underground caverns “Los Tres Ojosâ€.

Entertainment Tours and Excursions

Dr. Fish Ocean Spa ($154):

There is no better way to recharge your batteries in Punta Cana! Sail along the Bavaro coast on a deluxe catamaran that is also a fully equipped spa. You'll enjoy an amazing variety of spa treatments, including the renowned Dr. Fish exfoliation. You'll be pampered to your heart's content.

Caribbean Festival (N/A):

Admire Bavaroâ€s stunning coastline while sailing on a double-decker catamaran to Stingray Bay. Interact with stingrays and nurse sharks, followed by snorkeling in a reef teeming with tropical fish. On the way back, experience the Dominican Carnival for a taste of the countryâ€s Independence Day celebrations. Three activities that are bound to be the highlight of your stay!

Hi everyone,

I am looking in the Majestic Colonial website and was going to contact a WC.  There are several different people listed and I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good one or one not to contact? Any help would be appreciated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
