Majestic Colonial/Elegance Brides 2012-2013

Recommended Posts

Many thanks MissBubbles!  It is all becoming very REAL and truly exciting quite quickly! I have another question I am hoping some of you may be able to provide some insight on.  Does anyone know if the Spa does makeup?  Or are many of you "bringing a make-up savvy friend/family member" or doing it yourselves? Thanks so much again, it truly helps A LOT!!!!!
Welcome! The salon does hair and makeup (can do trial run also), just need to schedule with ur WC or salon directly. If u contact the Majestic they can email you a full list and prices. I have not heard the best things about the makeup (that it smudges, is cheap, too caked on etc.) As for hair, heard both good and just ok reviews. Another option is Krystie Ann, who will be down there this winter from Canad Good luck!

I too have seen mixed reviews on hair but not many wonderful things about the make-up. I personally am trying out new makeups to see what is the best for my wedding. And maybe try tips and tricks on my own to have the best look. I also want to be able to do my own makeup so that I can make touch ups as needed throughout the big day if needed. One thing I have read about hair.... takes lots of detailed pics and they can re-create it.

Also, I strongly suggest the Majestic Elegance Brides and Majestic Colonial Brides facebook groups. Tons of info, pictures, etc. :o)

ME Brides.... HELP!!!... lol.. I haven't been able to make or comment on posts or even respond to my PMs. :'o( I have tried 3 computers and an iPad. Still no luck. Until today I found a way around it by clicking on full page editor.. then previewing... then submitting.. what a mess!.. but anywho. My fiance and I have decided that we def want to have a reception at ME. Here is my new timeline since I cannot push up the ceremony time. Fingers crossed it all works out. Ceremony - 6:00 Dinner - 7:30 (will request guests to arrive at 7:15) Reception - 9:00 until 11:00 Now the biggest concern...... Parrot Bar or Wet Bar?? Which is the best to choose. We are thinking about 30 guests, could be more, could be less. But I def want to choose the nicest of the two.. :o) Also would LOVE to see pics if anyone has any. :o)

Hay Brit!

From what I've read, there doesn't seem to be a big difference between reception spots (wetbar or parrot).  Did you check out the pics on Picasa?  I feel like I've also read somewhere that the resort will extend the reception by one hour; you may get to have it until midnight as long as they have the availability for that spot; maybe weigh that into your decision of where to have it.  The pricing is for a 3 hour reception, so I would imagine that they would be willing to work with you on that.

I agree that this website might need a little maintenance.  I've had problems with seeing my posts, repeat posts, not being able to post pics on some days.  Ya never know what your gonna get, but its still been an unbelievable resource in getting this wedding planned!!!

Good Luck!

<3, Chrystine

We are booked to be married June 12, 2013 at the Colonial!! We are so excited, unfortunately we have never been to this resort, however based on reviews and that it is children friendly we felt it was the best place.

I must say I am a bit concerned about the paperwork needed... does anyone know where to get the document stating you are single and do you have to get the translation apostilled as well?

It was suggested to me and I thought a good idea since I don't want the party to get started too late??? Any suggestions or I'd love to hear if anyone has heard of anyone doing this and pulling it off....so confused and must make up my mind soon!!!

Thanks in advance

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
