With it being all-inclusive I dont see the sense in paying for what you can bascially get for free.. What your paying for really is the privacy. But my guests are mostly family and wont mind. So we are going to opt for the free dinner, this will save a ton of money in the long run. And I will take my own linen napkins in our colors, pink and orange, and maybe add some chair sashes to make it more "wedding dinnery" to set it apart from the other tables. They say they put one long table together or two rows based on guest numbers, I like this option much better than round tables so everyone can sit together. Plus our family is demanding at AHR for those that wont be able to travel.. So once we get back we will do music, dancing, appies, and drinks (not a sit down dinner, or at least that's my thoughts so far) and make it like a huge wedding shower/reception) As far as entertainment after dinner I see they have entertainment every hour and also the disco at 11.

Yeah, the extra costs drive me crazy considering it is ALL-INCLUSIVE.  With a small group I would go with the free dinner too.  We still don't know about doing an AHR .... I really don't want to, but it will depend how much of my extended family comes on the trip.

You have lots of options for entertainment.  You can find an outdoor patio/bar, go to the theatre ... etc.  Then there is always the disco.  I read some reviews last night about the disco and someone was saying it smelt like barf in there, EWwww, I hope not!

I 2nd that!.. I could see set up fee's and fee's for waiters but paying per person for food and all makes no sense at all. How many people are yall expecting to come? We are thinking just our immediate family and close friends which will probably be no more than 30. My FI's mom and step-mom said we should do the AHR since many of the extended family members wont be able to travel. Plus I didn't think it would be much fun to have a reception in PC since I dont see our close family members dancing and all.. lol

I'm sooo glad they have entertainment there... But barf??!!!  EWWW.... God, I hope not!!..  I read some reviews talking about how fun it was.. but seeing how there are a ton of ladies getting married at ME and MC I'm sure we'll get plenty of current reviews from our BDW brides. :o)

Hey guys!

My quote was $1640 leaving out of Montreal for a week, on March break (March 9-16)...Not bad at all, I don't think!

Any new advancements with what people have chosen?  I just sent my invites out last week so when we get an idea of numbers, I will take a look at options between a private dinner or the Steakhouse.  Right now though, we're booked at the Steakhouse for dinner and private reception at the wetbar!

When I was there for March break this year, we went to the disco just about every night...I didn't smell puke in there at all!  It was a fun time most nights!

I know ... $50/person for a private reception seems ridiculous.  I'm going to explore the free options too.  Not sure if there are any for 40+ people!

Hi there, We are getting married at the Majestic Colonial Feb 12, The Gazebo at 1pm.

Our price is $1459 +tax out of Saskatoon/Edmonton.

We have decided to do the non private dinner at the beach restaurant. We have about 20 guests. I am looking for ideas for a reception. My guests are most likely not interested in the disco, so I dont really know what we can do?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
