Hello Everyone,

I am getting married on May 11th 2012 on the Carnival Imagination. We are very excited about our big day and are having our ceremony on the ship prior to sailing.

I was wondering if anyone has had experiences with Carnival weddings and what are your thoughts on it?

I also wanted to know what decorations are we allowed to take for the reception?

Thank you everyone!

According to me,  I would suggest cruise from How2Vacation as I have experienced it personally for carnival imagination cruise wedding. I am saying this because my wedding was on the cruise from How2vacation, I really just can't forget my wedding. What superb decoration done on cruise, all varieties of food, various drinks and beverages and amazing service.

Hi! My fiance and I are getting married on October 19th, 2012, on the Imagination! We are so excited. We were in the process of planning a big, country club wedding and decided that this would be more fun! Have you heard anything since your post? I've found nothing but good reviews online. But I'm also wondering about decorations, etc.

Hi...We were in the process of planning a destination wedding in Punta Cana March 2013 and we got back pricing and it turned out about 4 people were coming so we decided to save the $7000 (resort/photographer/reception) and elope to Florida and hop on a cruise the next day. We haven't picked a cruise yet but we like the Eastern Caribbean itineraries. Carnival seems to be the most affordable. We also will be moving up the wedding date to October/November 2012!!

Hi Missy!

I am planning a wedding on the Carnival Destiny. Our sail date is Nov 22, 2012 (Thanksgiving) and the wedding ceremony will be 11/23/2012 on Key West and the reception will be a 2 hour reception back on board the ship. I used a wedding planner to plan the ceremony because carnival was not able to plan the wedding ceremony portion due to the number of guests attending. However, I am planning the reception through carnival. I guess my question to you is how thorough was your preparation process once you were on board the ship. I have found it very difficult to work with Carnivals wedding dept because I am always talking to a different perso. I havent been able to find out salon hours, when I will meet with the social host to give them the CD and wedding party information, or just other small detail planning that I would like to take care of. Once you boarded, were you able to work with someone to iron out all of the details? I am just getting a bit nervous. Thanks for any help that you can provide....and CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so glad that your wedding was amazing!

Cher

I had my wedding in Key West (not through carnival) and then had the reception back onboard.  When we got in our cabins there was a letter from the wedding department telling me who would be our contact person for the reception.  Later on we got a call from the wedding coordinator and discussed some things,  she then met us at our table during dinner.

Can you tell me what your 2 hour reception will include and where it will be on the ship? I am looking at having an on island wedding and reception back on the ship. THANKS!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
