Large or Small Wedding

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone so I have been doing alot of research and everyone says to invite everyone, even the people you don't think will make it because you never know who might actually come. But I want to keep it small no more than 40 people and we both have quite a few siblings so they take up alot of that 40. Is that wrong will people get offended if they are not invited to Punta Cana? We are going to have a reception back home and everyone will be invited to that. Another big thing for me was the cost for a larger group it seemed like every resort package was only for 15-20 people and everyone else you had to pay extra for. I don't think I could afford a larger wedding with the prices I have seen. Anyone have any advice?

It's your wedding, so invite whoever you want! If you just want to keep it family and close friends, go for it. If you explain that you're keeping it small (not that you should have to explain), people should understand. Also, if you're having an AHR, it should definitely not be a problem.

Our resort only has 13 rooms and we didn't want people in an overflow hotel, so we only invited family and close friends initially. Once we had definites from that group, we expanded a little, but basically told people that weren't invited that it was just family and close friends. If you are having an AHR, I can't see people being offended by not being invited to the wedding! Good Luck!

If you can only invite your family, do that.

We are getting married in Punta Cana and inviting 150 people.

We picked out a wedding package that charges one lump sum for all 150 people including a formal sit-down dinner, drinks, and alcohol.

Talk to your wedding coordinator about this. Maybe they can do this for ya.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
