Hair and Make Up at the Riu!

Recommended Posts

i think you should have a couple of test runs.

First, try doing it yourself and then take a picture of it. If you like it...great!! If not, ask a friend and do the same thing........take a picture (just to see how well it photographs).

If you are still not pleased, book the appointment at the salon, but take all the colors (eyeshawdow, lip, cheek, etc) that you want to use and just allow them to apply it.

My cousin is a hairdresser, so I'm hoping she will agree to do my hair (and maybe some of my BMs). I don't wear much makeup, so I'm hoping my friends can help me apply a little and it will look ok.

On another note, for the past few weeks I've been going to .: Renova Spa :. Spas in Mexico, Dominican Republic to check on prices for the salon at RIU and when I click on the link, it says it cannot be found. Do any of you have a price list for the salon?

If you don't have a friend or family member that does makeup I would get a trial done at the salon and see if you like it.

I'm lucky because my friend that is a hair stylist is doing my hair & makeup. We are going to go shopping at Mac before we leave and do a trial here. She's also doing my hair.

I would definitely take advantage of the salon - it is your wedding day! I'm sure they'll do a great job. You can always designate a friend as a backup that knows something about makeup.

I was at the RIU Negril last weekend to check out the resort and to go down the street to see the place we are getting married at, The Charela Inn...Anyways, I had a trial hair run at the Renova Spa and I actually liked it and I am very picky about my hair! :) The only weird thing is she did my hair (half up and half down, with curls) but then she takes it down because she says "no one can see your bridal hairstyle before the wedding." So, I walked out of there with a huge head of curls and had to it myself for when I went out later that night. She did a good job though. Definitely bring pictures to help her know what you want though!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
