So my time is winding down and I am getting excited!! I get married July 20 th so I should be contacted soon by a wedding coordinator. I was planning on having a private reception but I dont think I will have enough nights/rooms. i thought they counted the rooms and nights by person (BOY WAS I WRONG!) That makes a hige difference. Anyways....

I have a few questions ..

1). Is the 1500 credit per room or per person?

2). IF I have to use a restaurant, are there any that have private patios that you dont have to pay extra for or private rooms? Basically which one would be best to have a reception at ? I want nice and as private as can be.

3) I will probably be able to get the 10 - 19 rooms for 3 nights or 30 room nights = 2 room nights + 1 hour cocktail reception.  We paid seperately so wondering if we each get 2 room nights off of our stay?

4). What are the going rates for outside photographers? ladies which is my best bet? I would be so grateful if they would just allow me to buy a day passs.

5). If I am getting married at 2:00. What time should I do the cocktail hour? Then dinner?

Hi - we are using zuniga - two sets of lighting, two under table lights, runners for 2 tables, centre pieces for two tables & favor for 12 - $800! We aren't having anything amazing - costs soon add up. It's costs us with photos, extras a good £1,500-£2,000. I'll send you the catalogue from zuniga x

I'm a newbie bride to be from the UK. I am getting married at the moon palace in 6 months time and need to start putting things into action. For brides who have already got married at the moon did you have a wedding coordinator you could contact before you went? I would really like to have a lounge set up and lantern structure. Does anyone know if the moon palace do this or do I need to contact an outside vendor?

Any help and advice would be amazing as I haven't a clue!

Hi Ems! I used Lily at Zuniga as well... you can contact her at lily@decocancun.com and she usually responds rather quickly! Our lounge set is for 10 people and it was $155 and we did 4 strings of lantern lights which came out to $400. We also ordered our flowers for bridal party, and centerpieces through Zuniga. My wedding coordinator was able to tack this total on to our final purchase order from Moon Palace so that we only pay one final bill.

Hope this helps!!

Hi Lauren! So a lot of your questions I am not sure about but I can answer some of them!!

The 1500 credit is per room. Not every room will get the max amount of 1500 credits, it all depends on how many nights are booked.

The onsite photographer- Smile Market (Ocean photo Studio) has been getting great reviews so we ended up going with them! Just a little less of a hassle so that I don't need to worry about day passes and/or booking them a room. We are paying $2200 and that includes photo AND video for 5 hours. Plus a bunch of pictures and photo books AND a cd with all of our photos!

Good luck!

How many guests are you having? If it is under 30 you can make a reservation as the restaurants and there are several that have private outside seating areas. I don't remember them, but if you search for "moon palace locations" I think that thread has information. Also, read through the moon palace reviews. Several girls on there had private events at the restaurants and gave their reviews on there.

It depends how much you want to spend on photography, but Del Sol has been AMAZING. We paid about $3k for 6 hours of photography, comes with two photographers and we get rights to all the pictures (make sure you read the fine print about this with other companies) I don't think they have received a single negative comment in their reviews. They have an agreement with the Moon Palace, so they are not considered an outside vendor, but you do need to pay for a day pass for them ($93x2)

I'm confused by what you meant by "paid separately"…in order for rooms to count, everything needed to be booked through the same travel agent/booking number…but either way I think it is just 2 rooms total.

From what I've read most ceremonies take about 30 minutes max, and the hotel only books events on the hour. We are getting married at 6, cocktail at 7 and reception at 8. I would suggest keeping everything sequential…there are a lot of distractions at an all-inclusive and you don't want guests wondering off and it become less special. Honestly, there is so much food at these places even with food at "normal" dinner time, its not like people are ever hungry. I would just have your ceremony at 2, cocktail hour/picture time for you and your groom from 3-4 and an early dinner starting at 4. You CAN ask for food to come out later, so you could start your reception at 4 and then maybe ask for food to come out around 5?

Hope this helps!

We leave in TWO DAYS and I am freaking out!!! Word of advice to all brides do as much as you can as soon as you can!!! I'm a huge planner, but this is two different types of stress, packing for a vacation AND a wedding. LOTS to do!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
