Newbie, Moon Palace 2013

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey! I got married at Moon Palace in June.  I posted this on the 2012 MP bride forum, but I thought I'd share with you too...

Anyways I got my long awaited wedding pictures from Fineart Studio Fridayrockon.gif

For those still deciding on a photographer- Fabrizio and Diego from Fineart Studio were awesome!! I'm not sure what hoops 2013 brides will be jumping through to get an off site photographer, but either way it's fun to look at other wedding pics!

They showed up right on time and their pictures are fabulous.  My main complaint is they took 14 weeks to get me my pictures.  They mentioned 8-12 weeks, which is a crazy long time to begin with, but then it took them longer... needless to say I was checking my email constantly.  They did apologize  I actually don't have the CD yet (it's en route) but here's a link to my online slideshow!

I plan on doing a review of them and will let you know when I do... it will be soon I promise!!

Good luck trying to fight with them..if you read the MP 2012 thread..many of us have already tried to fight and work our way around them but its useless. IF having your preferred vendors is a high priority, I would switch your venue for your wedding in all honesty.

Hey guys Just spent the last 2 hours looking through the mp 2012. Now feeling mega stressed. There is major renovation work being carried out in the sunrise and the disco is closed. Does anyone know when it will be open again? ALSO we had photographs taken while we were there at the mp and at the water park and no one in the uk will allow me to print pictures off the disk as we haven't got written permission so I must remember to get next year. I plan on taking my own sashes and getting a guest to set this up does anyone know if this will be allowed? Also can you take your own iPod system for music? The ceremony music I have a playlist for before and after... Stuck on what I will walk down the isle 2.. Claire x

Theres still no word abot the disco but they have been turning the lobby into a bar with a dj at night If you bring your linens they will charge you a setup fee of at least $200 They give you an ipod dock for the ceremony and im sure u can bring ur own for the reception and just rent a speaker from psav to make it louder

As I have read through the Moon Palace Bride 2012 forum it seems that many people have used many outside vendors. What they have done to get around it is booking them a room for one night. The vendor then becomes one of your guests. Also the Flower guy is able to deliver the flowers  at the lobby and he has seem to get away with it .

I have no clue or I may be wrong but my suggestion would be is to not tell them anything. Get your photographer a room for the night and say they are a guest!! Flowers get them delivered the day of and have a bridesmaid meet him at the entrance/lobby. For the wedding decorations and the speaker system I would just go with MP chosen vendors.

I agree their vendors are way overpriced !!!

P.S I know that you are also have to use a few day passes. This may also be an option!! Not sure

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
