Newbie, Moon Palace 2013

Does anyone know which locations for ceremony and/or reception are handicap accessible? I have not been able to get this answer from anyone at the resort after sending emails a couple times over the last 3 weeks.....The handicap accessibility is our only concern

Hi there, are there any recent 2013 Moon Palace brides around? I have a question about the remaining balance once you have reached 75 nights booked. We booked 82 nights and paid for a 7 night stay for my fiance and I. Since the 7 nights are supposed to be "complimentary" I thought that meant we would get a check back from the resort with the remaining balace (after we paid for music, flowers, etc). I just received the PO from the wedding coordinator and it says our remaining credits of $1,700 can be used for wedding extras only, no cash reimbursement. I just emailed her to ask because I thought I had read on here that brides had that money returned to them in a check. If anyone has an answer please let me know. My fianace is going to upset if we aren't going to get that money back. Thats one of the reasons we booked 7 nights for ourselves. :)

Our wedding coordinator was able to minus our credit from our PO. I had heard some horror stories from past brides that it took months and months after their wedding to receive the refund check so I asked my coordinator to take minus it from the final total of our PO and she did! I worked with Renee on this. Let me know if you need me to dig up some emails confirming that they did this and I will! Would make it MUCH easier for you instead of waiting for a check!

All terraces except the Caribbean should be handicap accessible.  I think all of the gazebos are as well.  The beach has stair access so I would avoid the beach for the ceremony and reception.

Hi everyone I wonder if anyone can help, I get married at MP on 3rd February 2014 & it all seems to have been so easy something must be wrong.... I have been dealing with Anna am I correct in thinking that I will get assigned someone else at some point? (I read somewhere 90 days before the wedding and I only have 77 to go) I have contacted deco cancun/Zuniga about decorations, ocean photography about live streaming & photos and all seems to be going to plan until I read things about wedding contract etc....which I haven't had or even been mentioned, I haven't paid a penny out either and this is starting to worry me, any advice? What stage should I be at? Thanks for any help brides!! :)

Hi willbeabriggs, Please don't panic! I didn't get my wedding contract until a couple weeks before we flew, nor did we pay any deposit, sign anything or pay a penny towards our wedding until the day we met up with our onsite wedding coordinator Karen Garcia (who was brilliant by the way). Yes you will be assigned another wedding coordinator at some point (this can vary from one bride to-be to the next). I got married 17th October this year and other then confirming my ceremony/cocktail hour and reception locations and the food such as your evening buffet/sit down meals before we arrived, nothing else had been done until we had our meeting two days after our arrival. That's where you meet your coordinator, discuss your chosen food and wedding locations, music choice, the set up of your day, the order in which you wish things to go, etc, etc. It was only then we paid and signed out wedding contract and paid any monies owed. Just try to relax and enjoy this time preparing for your big day. I guarantee your wedding is in good hands :) Good luck! And congratulations x 400 400 400 400 400

The process for me has been this: - Call to find out wedding availability for my range of dates -site inspection stay - send in $250 deposit (which will be credited to my wedding extras) to hold the wedding day and time. (I have the complimentary package) -Palace weddings immediately wanted my Wedding Ceremony Contract signed and returned. Some items on there were missing and/or wrong. So I've been sorting that out. -As soon as I sign the ceremony contract, they will pass me on o a wedding planner, then 30 days prior my wedding coordinator will be assigned Hope this helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
