Newbie, Moon Palace 2013

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am a little less than a month away. My coordinator is Brenda. She has been great. I have been emailing and calling her and she is always informative and prompt.

I ending up only having 25 people coming so I was unable to qualify for the free reception. So I am using the complimentary package and bringing my own decorations. I am having the reception at the Brazilan restaurant. This restaurant has a balcony that can be used and is semi private. It is the only restaurant that you can use with your free reservation that is kinda private. Just a thought:)

I am also having a large reception back home and totally agree that I don't want to go crazy down there ether. I think the beach and the whole feel is enough

Hi ladies!! I'm here and it's great. Even the rain doesn't ruin the fun. I just had my appointment with Valeria our onsite coordinator and she is very nice and helpful. We just walked by bugambilias and it made it much more exciting to know in a few days I'll be there to officially walk down an aisle. I will try to post pictures a little later today.
How did your wedding go??! :D

For you brides that recently got married, how hot was it around 6-7pm? For those that had a reception on tucan terrace, was it hot, windy, or comfortable?? I can't decide whether to order the expensive huppa from Zuniga that covers the tables . . . I would rather not spend that money but I don't want my guests to be uncomfortable.

Hi all,

Congrast on your weddings!  I am trying to figure out room rates for January and for some reason it seems like the rates we are getting quoted are higher than what a travel agent can get.  Any ideas?  Also, I'm having the hardest time trying to figure out what to do with tables-- we are having more than 30 guests, and I'm not sure whether I should go with the complimentary and bring our own decorations, or to do a package?  With the complimentary, do they charge for the additional tables more than 30 guests?  Do they charge to set up your decorations?  I've been reading mixed things.

thanks!!!

Hi Ladies, Iâ€m wondering about the photography package that comes with the wedding package and the DJ that the resort offers. It seems for both of these most people seem to go with an outside vendor. Has any one chosen to go with the resorts options and have you heard any reviews about them good or bad?

Thanks!

Hello all!

I will be getting married on 9.1.13 and am very excited. I did have a question about the communication between the wedding planners there at Moon Palace and the bride/groom. We seem to have a hard time with our planner...she takes awhile to respond and we don't know if this is usual or not.

Also, did any of you guys have issues filling out the guest itinerary/room confirmation spreadsheet. I find it to be time consuming and don't know if there is a way around filling it all out, especially because we are not getting the group benefits either. Any advice/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Also, my wedding package (Pearl Shimmer) comes with a photographer...are the photographers provided for us professional/good or do you guys recommend something else?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
