Hi ladies I just got back from our wonderful trip I can't believe its all over!!! But it really was amazing. Just like every bride has said before please believe me, RELAX! IT WILL ALL BE PERFECT! Zaray was our amazing coordinator and really took care of everything and remembered to go over all the tiny details. I met a few brides there who I couldn't believe hadn't been on the forum! Didn't really plan anything and their weddings were also perfect! Ill do a few review once things die down a bit. Going to finally spend the afternoon catching up on my dvr and drinking some tequila we brought home! Here are a few quick comments though that I hope help: - be careful with the hotel pressing services...other brides had commented on a weird smell so I had mine done at home, carried it on the plane and hung it up out of the bag in my grandparents room and it was perfect. HUSBAND :) just lightly ironed his linen suite (which he didn't have done before the trip) and it came out perfect. My mom had her dress done at the hotel and she got it back with tiny holes all in the chiffon! No one but her noticed but she was very angry - it IS Extremely windy almost all the time. Like everyones hair was messed up. BUT with how hot it is down there it was actually a blessing. With all the wind a lot of the tiny details, like holes in my moms dresss, can't even be noticed - trust the wedding coordinator staff. They will get you everything you need once you are down there -relax by the pool and delegate! I got in only twenty min by the pool until after the wedding bc i was running around trying to do stuff for others. - - -Remember the name Karla and tell your guests to ask for her about spa services. The ppl who normally schedule things will tell you everything is full but she made last minute appointments for all my guests (mainly the ones I told weeks ago to make appointments grr) - don't worry about construction. There is some that rotates through the place but it is sooo huge you will 100% be able to avoid it if its an issue. They moved several of our guests around with no issues. Ill try to keep checking in to answer questions but feel free to also private message me. Enjoy your planning! It will all be worth it!

Hi,

the price for the hairstyle is that just for the bride or is that for anyone to have their hair done.  My sister in law is thinking about getting her hair done by the salon down there the day of the wedding.  I just want to be able to tell her the cost.

Hi Ladies, I Just arrived back from MP yesterday. We were in Mexico for 14 days. A week before the wedding and a week after. 2 days after the wedding my hubby and I took off and stayed at palace resort in Isla Mujeres for 4 days. It was amazing! I highly recommend doing if you can. Much smaller and quieter resort, but perfect for a short honeymoon. We had 70 guests at our wedding- so the R & R after was much needed. As mentioned by prior brides. Relax. Everything turned out PERFECT! One thing I would note that I was not aware of before we went is the wind. It is EXTREMELY WINDY! We were told it wasn't typically like that- but we were at MP for 9 days and it was non-stop. It felt nice- given the heat, but hair and decorations will NOT sit nicely. Last minute we decided to keep out ceremony and cockail hour outside and move the reception indoors. They did a fabulous job! Emy our coordinator was awesome. We used the MP photog- he seemed to be pretty good, but haven't actually seen the prints yet. Should be arriving in the mail this week. My only issue was that I requested a specific picture ( with the mariachi band playing at our cocktail hour) and he took too long doing the "traditional/required" photos that we missed them and weren't able to get that shot. Also- we did the legal ceremony. The blood tests were not too bad. It took less than 5 minutes on resort and we never received the results. I'm guessing that means that all was good. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions! I am bummed to be back to the real world and am already trying to plan my next trip back!

Congrats!!! Any suggestions on where to stay at Moon (Nizuc v. Grand)? I have heard of renovations taking place but I have no idea on what part of the hotel it is happening.

There are renovations throughout the resort.  Mostly in the Grand and sunrise section- but hardly noticeable. There was just a small amount of construction in Nizuc section.   We had our ceremony on the beach at grand and cocktail hour was by the infinity pool at grand- it was Beautiful!!  Also- had I known before-I would have tried to book the roof terrace at Caribeno for one of my events. Amazing view!

We stayed at Nizuc, which turned out to be perfect for us.  We had 70 guests so it made it easy to all meet up and find each other.  It is a 5 min walk to Grand section and 10 to Sunrise.  It's a good combo of sunrise and grand.  There is a Rowdier crowd, lots of people and kids by Sunrise.  Grand is much calmer and had a 75m Lap pool if you're interested in that.  Nizuc is smaller than Sunrise and bigger than Grand. It was Easy to relax but also had a great swim up bar.  The rooms were also pretty nice at Nizuc- but think they are newer/modern in Grand.  We didn't see the inside of the rooms there.  So I guess it really depends on what you're looking for while you're there.   I really don't think you can go wrong with any section.  They are all so close either walking or using the free shuttle, so even if you're not staying in your fav section, it won't be hard to get to.

I just got back from Moon Palace for my wedding and absolutely loved it minus a few mishaps.

On choosing location. It depends on what kind of group you are travelling with. From reading reviews I had decided on Nizuc as Grand sounded really quiet and Sunrise sounded too hectic with lots of kids. When we got there Nizuc seemed kind of boring for us. Minus parents/aunts/uncles, the rest of us were a group of late 20's/early 30's who are really playful. We were actually really excited when we headed over to the Sunrise section and found the flowrider and teens lounge (only for the popsicles and unlimited arcade games lol) and Noir Club (which btw is really good!) and even the pool area entertainment seemed more lively. Everyone had wished that we were staying on the Sunrise side as we found ourselves heading over to that side quite often. We had never even bothered to hang out near the Grand Section. I had done my eshoot there and that was about it. It seems newer and the facilities were nicer, but nothing to do and far from all the excitement. If you prefer some more peace and quiet and like lying around the pool, I would suggest Nizuc as it was pretty central to everything and walking over to sunrise or grand isn't a big deal (there are shuttles as well).

As far as renovations, I saw some going on on the Sunrise side, but nothing that would really affect your stay. But apparently Nizuc is going to start renos soon too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
