Newbie, Moon Palace 2013

Recommended Posts

Hello Ladies,

I have recieved confirmation of the benefits MP are offering. They are listed in red below. Not sure if they will be the same 2013 but they are great. As there wil be 24 quests attending for 14 nights we will qualify for the 7 complimentary room nights and unlimited private 2 hour functions.

I now have the rates for 2012 for Moon Palace – am I just looking at the entry level rooms?

These are the “freebiesâ€

Please note – free nights have to be paid for up front then are refunded post stay.

Wedding Group Benefits:

• The Hotel will assign a Wedding Planner to coordinate your Group 90 days prior to arrival.

• With a minimum of 5-9 paid rooms for 3 nights or 15 room nights, the bride and groom will receive one (1) complimentary 1 hour cocktail party (Should the group require additional functions there will be a surcharge based on the number of guests and type of event).

• With a minimum of 10-19 paid rooms for 3 nights or 30 room nights, the bride and groom will receive one (1) complimentary 1 hour cocktail party and 2 complimentary room nights for the bride and groom. (Should the group require additional functions there will be a surcharge based on the number of guests and type of event).

• With a minimum of 20-24 paid rooms for 3 nights or 60 room nights, the bride and groom will receive an upgrade to a complimentary private event instead of a cocktail party (i.e. private dinner) and 4 complimentary room nights for the bride and groom.

With a minimum of 25 paid rooms for 3 nights or 75 room nights, the bride and groom will receive unlimited private functions (2 hours per function) and 7 complimentary room nights for the bride and groom plus 1 room upgrade for the bride and groom to the next available room category. ***

***Free nights will be refunded post travel via the same payment form it was received through the group contract. We will not provide a credit for unused stays; it cannot be transferable to another party or good for future stays). Online bookings or rooms booked through various operators do not qualify.

**Function area will be assigned upon availability and confirmed upon arrival.

I have been looking at other hotel (although i love MP) but the reviews about the beach and sea has really put me off. Trip advisor reviews say the water is very murky and full of seaweed. I had a look at some videos on youtube and it doesn't look clear at all. Im very wooried as all our quests including me and partner will be flying from the UK. We are all expecting a beautiful beach with clear waters and don't want to be disappointed.

mrslumsden2b you visited MP last year? Did you go in the sea? Can you shed any light or can anybody else?

I visited Gran Bahia Principe in 2007 and the beach there was stunning and crystal clear waters!

Any more pics of the sea would be great.

Hello 2013 MP brides!! I just joined BDW. My wedding date is Feb. 23, 2013.

Congratulations to everyone. I look forward to keep this forum going for the year to share each other's experience. As of now I haven't not been contacted by my wedding planner. They told me I have Joannis. Hopefully I will hear from her soon since I'm pretty lost at the moment on what to do next.

jackie44, since your wedding is around the same time as mine, did you hear back from you wedding planner?

If you are looking for a beautiful beach than do not stay at Moon Palace. I just got married there and I knew before I went that the beach wasn't great but you can't even go in it. They have other palace resorts with gorgeous beaches but moon palace has a terrible beach and I never saw one person try to enter the water. The pools were great and you can take shuttles to other palace resorts for the beach but you can't go in the water and it is gross and full of seaweed.

You can't even get in the ocean?  Uh oh, my dad will not be happy about that! lol. Guess him and my mom will be traveling to one of the other resorts for the beach!

Nooo!!! Beatrice is gone? She was supposed to be the only "good" one Moon Palace had! Does anyone know who her replacement is or how responsive that person is? Also, am really sad the ocean isn't even decent enough to swim in! No one happens to know if the amount of seaweed varies by season, do they? :(

Hey Ladies - I just signed up for a vistaprints.com account and they gave me a referral link http://vistaprint.tellapal.com/a/clk/4l5lRJ   If you order before the end of March (I know! not much time...) you get 80% off using that link.  I get $10 for each referral, but I'm already done ordering stuff, so either way I hope this can help a few of you out.  Also, if you sign up for an account, they give you 250 free business cards (just pay for shipping). That's what I bought to make my STD luggage tags with. Happy planning!

Where are all the Moon Palace 2013 Brides? Is there another forum I'm missing, or is everyone else just using the Moon Palace 2012 forum? Lots of information there! Either way, I thought I'd post my STD's I just finished! pic stds.jpgThe "Please Save the Date" side is reversible, with this on the other side. I'm hoping people will actually use these if they end up coming!

I got the actual luggage tags on http://tags.idcardgroup.com/  the tags were $47.99 for 100 and the straps were $5.50 for 100. If your total is over $100 it's free! The inserts were from vistaprint.com.  Just an FYI it's going to cost about $1.60 to mail two of these in one standard envelope (it's too thick to be considered regular mail).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
