Newbie, Moon Palace 2013

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I'm getting married at Moon Palace on January 12, 2013!  As far as a private sit down reception goes, we are hoping to book over 75+ room nights which means we would get a free unlimited private events - which would mean the reception.  Has anyone been quoted what it would cost to bring your own decorations for the ceremony and reception?

Thanks!

If you bring your own decorations, they will charge you anywhere from $100-$200 for the ceremony and another $100-$200 per table for the reception, ask your wedding planner as everyone has gotten a slightly different answer!

Just booked my wedding at MP for May 31st, 2013! The contract I signed has the $1500 resort credit included in it so I am going to make sure they honor it!

That does seem pretty high, especially if your decorations are minimal.  My destination wedding coordinator (from Beach Bums - who is really great btw) said that I may be able to customize some of the packages a bit.  My wedding colors are blue and coral - so maybe I could use the Nautical package and add some accents of coral to it.  I'll be sure to post once I can finally talk to a wedding coordinator at the resort!  She also said that if you use Deco Cancun (which I've read about in some of the forums on here) that you don't have to pay the set up fee or for a day pass.  So depending on their pricing, they might be a good option.

welcome.gifwelcome4.gif Ladies!!

My FI and I were supposed to pay for our 9 nights in full up front which was almost 4000 dollars!! We just (through our TA) asked to pay it in small increments and they let is do that.

I am getting married at the Moon Palace June 24, 2012. Planning a destination wedding can be very stressful, but I know it will be well worth it! This website is amazing! I am on it everyday! I was very overwhelmed when I first joined because of all the amazing DIY so many brides were doing! I am having an AHR one month after we get back, so that's where I'm putting most of my "decor" energy into. 1 reason for my DW choice was the breathtaking views and beautiful grounds, and beveryone so happy to be on vacation ....leaves little work for me;)

Also if you have a TA to go through, DO IT! I havent had to talk at all to MP. She has done everything and has made it alot less stressful for me. I'm still not quite 3 months out so we shall see how that all goes.....BangHead.gif needless to say I don't have high hopes for smooth, efficient communication.

My TA was able to get them to give my whole group that resort credit. As far as I know they will likely be honoring this promotion in 2013 anyways.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
