Recommended Posts

Yay! More Moon Palace 2013 Brides!! I got engaged this past September and have been stalking this site like crazy ever since! My TA has been in touch with Moon Palace and I have a tentative wedding date of May 31st, 2013!! We were told we need to pay for the bride&groom room in full in order to confirm our date so we will be doing that in the next few weeks (when we get our taxes back! haha) CANT WAIT!!!! I look forward to planning with all of you ladies!!

Hi!

We're hoping to get married April 13, 2013 (still need to pay deposit). It's been our dream to get married on the beach, but I've been reading through the Tripadvisor.com reviews and a lot of people made negative comments about the beach. Primarily too much seaweed? And that the water wasn't pretty? That forum is hard to get real information because some people are overly picky and others are clueless, so has anyone done an actual site visit? I've been to other Palace Resorts (Beach Palace, Vallarta Palace and day trip to the one on Isla Mueras) but haven't seen the Moon Palace...

Also, does anyone know if we HAVE to use the new Colin Cowie wedding packages? I was excited when I heard he was getting involved with the Palace Resorts, but I don't really like the new collections, and they seem to be a lot more money with a lot less perks...

Thanks!

Hi Ladies,

I am getting married April 22, 2013 at Moon Palace.  I did a site visit in December.  The beach is small, but I did not care too much.  There is seaweed, but all the nearby resorts who share the same beach have it too.  I think it depends on the tides, as to how much seaweed accumulates on the beach.  MP cleans the seaweed numerous times a day with a tractor.  Below is are photos of the beach from my site visit, including one where a wedding was taking place!

Regarding the new Colin Cowie packages, yes we have to use them in 2013.  I personally am doing the complimentary and add-ons as I did not love the collections.  If purple was my wedding color, I would have used that one as it is beautiful, but you cannot change the colors.

I look forward to planning with all of you!

Hello! I just got my confirmation email for our wedding date of March 14, 2013 at Moon Palance. I signed up for the complimentary wedding package and no deposit was required.  Does anyone know if we can add flowers to the complimentary wedding package or can we get them from a outside vendor?

Congralutions to all on your engagement and happy wedding planning!

Hi All,

I am also looking at the Moon Palace for April 2013. Fell in Love with this resort and at the mo there is no other hotel for me! BDW has been an enormous help with all the great pics of weddings and terraces at the Moon Palace.

I'm a little stuck and disappointed as i am requesting quotes from numerous TA for 22 adults and 2 children...OMG... £53,000.00 is the cheapest quote and there is 7 quests only staying for 7 nights!

I have had a look at Palace resorts website and they are currently offering children eat and stay free, so i was hoping to get this in our quotes but nope full price!!!

I'm also wondering how the group amenties work. If you have 75 room nights (which we will be) the bride and groom get 7 complimentary nights. Does anyone know if this is applied when i book the wedding?

Ive e-mailed moon palace these questions but they have responded advising i need to book the wedding first before hey can advise? So Frustrating...

I'm loving the Colin Cowie packages... Exotic Peacock is my fav!

Any help on this resort will be much appreciated as i'm already getting stressed out with the cost of a group booking!

So excited for the wedding tho...

:-)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
