Not yet engaged/Budget under $1,000/The Knot.com

I bet that you could do everything for under $1000.00 if you really set and budget and stuck to it.

1) Make your own flowers for the ceremony from Michael's, etc. (And wait for the coupons & don't buy them all at once buy one at a time so you can use that coupon for each individual one because most of the time they are only like 40% off one regular price item)

2) WAIT FOR SALES DON'T JUST BUY BECAUSE YOU FOUND WHAT YOU WANT.. (I found the sandalwood fans I wanted and waited till they went on sale from $1.59 per fan to $.59 a fan!!!)

3) 100% go try on dresses in a bridal boutique once you find the style you want have somebody write it down for you (without anyone else seeing) then tell the sales people you are going to sleep on your decision go home and google the dress. You can buy them online SO MUCH CHEAPER!! Just make sure you try on the dress before buying it online!!

4) Splitting a beach house is a GREAT idea!! A nice way to keep costs low!!

But I personally feel you should make a budget and take a chunk out for a "wedding dinner" whether it be at a restaurant or a cocktail hour after your ceremony.. Research restaurants in the area and get a round about price for dinner for however many people you are bringing then add about $50.00-$100.00 for drinks. SET THAT ASIDE AND DON'T TOUCH IT!!!

Well hope this helped!

That house is amazing, isn't?! I like the idea of setting aside money now just for the food. I think I will do that. However, I am now leaning towards having a late afternoon wedding and doing a cocktail and dessert reception, and then everyone's on their own for dinner. How does that sound?

I LOVE Pinterest, and this totally inspired me:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
