Well it's official we are getting married !! And making history because its finally recognized in New york State and soon the World..

 

 I'm marrying my soulmate the most amazing and romantic woman at one of  the most wonderful places in the world and a place special and dear to my heart. Has anyone ever stepped off the plane somewhere new and felt an instant connection? The smell the surroundings, the people the culture all too familiar to explain.Well That is the way this woman made me feel from the very first encounter. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her and I knew instantly that we somehow knew one another before...She whisked me away last summer to The Grand Hotel on Mackinac island. Its in Michigan and cars are not allowed you must take a ferry to the island and arrive at the hotel entrance by Horse Carriage. For all of you out there unfamiliar with the signifance. Its the location where The Movie 'SOMEWHERE IN TIME' was filmed starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. The most romantic movie ever made and has a cult following. How romantic to think someone would travel back in time to reunite with there lost love. For those of you who havent seen it please do yourself a favor and watch it. Once there we spent three fanatstic days reliving all the great moments seen in the movie and while out on the lake in a small rowboat on our way to a private picnic she had arrange for us, she starts to play the theme song "Somewhere in Time " by John Barry from her ipod touch connected to portable speakers no less . And she stops in the middle of this lake and reads to me not a poem but more like a timeline of our love story titled " Did You Ever Know ... and at the end of these words she pulls out the most beautiful custom made ring i'd ever seen and asked me to marry her. It was the most romantic and unique proposal ever...I still get tears in my eyes when I relive it. I know in May 2012 in Mexico I am marrying my love of all my lifetimes. We decided to use the Smile Market Wedding Photography company because after viewing all there works We couldn't think anyone better to capture our once in a life time moments, and what better name to capture the essence of that day. A day full of smiles...from Friends from Family and from us the Happy couple...a smile a day keeps the Heart young and vibrant....Thanks to all our loved ones for their continued love and support on our special journey together in realizing our dream wedding.

Congratulations and welcome to the forums! Too bad we don't have pictures of the row boat and poem reading! That would have been a fantastic time to have a photographer with a long lens to capture those moments in time!

Best of luck with all your plans. The Moon Palace is a fantastic venue for your wedding. You will love it.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
