Hello Ladies-

Soooo I am thinking of skipping the save the date and just sending out invites since my original idea was to send out save the dates with a pre-rsvp for guests to return to get an idea of how many people are coming so we can reserve a block of rooms at the resort. I feel like its so early for the invite but since it's a destination wedding we need to give everyone plenty of notice. We will continue to update everyone on our website and I am thinking of sending a magnet with the date maybe call it a "date reminder" instead of a save the date since they will have the invite. Thought? comments?

Love that idea!!!! I was debating on the same thing...& hadn't thought of a "date reminder" magnet instead. I will most likely be doing that. Thinking invites about 14-12 months out, date reminders 6 months out, and travel packets 2 months out??

yeah we are planning on communicating via our website as far as reminders about travel and I am doing OOT bags to give them an agenda. I want them to have the magnet so they can always have it as a reminder. I'm thinking of having it say "save the date & start saving your money" or just "date reminder"since they are getting it a year early. lol

I love the magnets!! we are planning on using those as well. We are planning on sending our save the dates in May and our invitations in August for our Feb 2013 wedding. I will utilize our website a lot and can email guests from it, but I really wanted to give people as much notice as possible because of the expenses involved.

  • 1 month later...

We are deff doing a pre-rsvp and saying you will only get an invite if you pre-rsvp yes. We will still send out invites to the older folks who do not use the computer, but our invites are soo expensive, we think we will send out a thinner invite to the no's- or maybes...

We totally thought we'd send them out 2 year in advance but time flys! It's a great idea, although people say 1 year is a bit too far out...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
