bksweetheart, I messaged you my email address.

For everyone else, the taxes at Beloved regarding the reception prices include 11% federal tax and 15% service tax. So the $45 I was quoted per person for our reception actually turns out to be $56 per person.

For Planner 1, Alejandro had mentioned them in one of our first emails I believe, but never said anything about having to use them. I thought they were just an option. Turns out, they're the Beloved's preferred vendor, so Alejandro cc'd them on one of our emails and that's how our correspondence started. They charge 11% tax for everything. Before I got an email from them, I actually googled them and sent a message for them to contact me anyway, so you can always do that if Alejandro doesn't put you in touch with them right away.

Hope that helps!

Hi LAdies, I'm new to BDW and my fiance and I are considering a wedding at the beloved. Does anyone have any photos of the different reception spaces? I've been to Excellence right next door which is absolutely beautiful and look forward to visiting Beloved. Any info would be greatly appreciated !

Hi ladies - I'm attempting to start locking down the details for the wedding and reception.. My goodness, It just seems like they charge for every little thing. For any past brides, do you know if there is any 'basic' level of decoration already included? Like the gazebo and table settings for example. I just get the sense that the Beloved tries to up-sell on all these premium items when they may not even be necessary. Can anyone provide any insight?

Hi Ladies- I am new to the forum and starting to work on the detail of my wedding, which is not until May, 2014. However, it is best to get a head start with things, especially with planner 1 events which has not contacted me back about the cost of their decorations. I agree with bksweetheart on how it seems like they charge for every single thing. We plan on having our ceremony on the beach and the reception at the Isla Grill due to our guest size. I would also like to know if any previous brides have worked with Planner 1 events and what they chose for their decorations that are not so costly. If anyone can provide pictures that would be great as well. Thanks :)

I'd like to know too. I'd messaged the WC many times now and I'm still just as confused. From what I can gather there's no decoration included. You have to pay Planner1 for any type of gazebo, same for table settings I guess. You will get a bouquet for free I think. Which is pointless for me as I'm making a brooch bouquet.

I've had a look at the in-house photography website and I wasn't all that enamored by them to be honest. Some of their editing looks a bit off to me. I'm going to go for someone else. :)

I've asked this question on an e-mail chain I'm on outside of this forum and I haven't heard of anyone using the in house photographer. I chose Sasha Gluck. There is another photographer Fer Juaristi who's work I've seen online but he is pretty pricey. I think the best photographers in the Rivera Maya are Del Sol but Nayeli told me they're banned from The Beloved. Oh but by the way, if you pay for night in the hotel for the photographer, they can't charge you the outside vendor fee. Still an extra cost, but less than $500.

Well I visited The Beloved last month and the gazebo is already there on the beach.. I was reading through some of the earlier posts on this thread and I thought I remembered someone saying they put some basic decorations on it.. I am just trying to decide how elaborate I want to get with the decorations. Many have said that they just wanted to use the natural surroundings and not overdo it. I got the prices from Planner 1 and they charge $500-4600 just to hang and light Chinese lanterns. The centerpieces for the tables are $60-$140 I think. Luckily I am having a small wedding.. but geez it is adding up.

Sorry... my mistake... the WC did say to me that they have "basic white poles" for the gazebo. And yes I was quoted the same just for some basic garlands to hang from it. ARGH. I hate to think how much it will all actually cost!! and it's just myself and H2B!

I just for back from our wedding at the Beloved. We used Raffaele from Mayan hospitality. They were amazing and able to create the unique look we were going for at a fraction of Planner 1s cost. Ern the hotel staff commented at how amazing it looked. I will gladly email pictures and provide information to whomever is interested. Email me directly at celiday@aol.com

Hello, Congratulations on your union! I am currently in the process of planning my wedding at the Beloved Hotel next year in May. We have everything booked and Alejandro has been great! My fiancé and I have contacted Planner 1 events for about three weeks and they have yet to give us an estimate of the cost for the decorations. It does seem like they charge for every little thing. I would be glad to see your pictures of your decorations and email you about Raffaele from Mayan Hospitality.

I am new to this site and so glad that I have found this to help with the planning. Hope everyone else is doing well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
