Hello everyone, I am strongly considering planning a wedding at The Beloved in Nov/Dec 2013 of this year. (Looks like its quite popular for this time of year). If anyone has any info they'd like to share, i.e. reviews, pictures, vendors used, etc.) that would be great! Feel free to PM me or e-mail me at [email protected]. Thanks!

Hi Belovedbride and Bksweetheart!  Looks like there are a handful of other 2013 brides as well!  I'm excited to hear about how all the planning is coming together and also any advice from former Beloved brides!  Have you decided on your menu?  It sounded like you pick 1 menu and add another main course option.  Has anyone mixed & matched items from different menus?  So excited and looking forward to hearing from everyone!

Hi,

I'm having a wedding 11/13 I was there this past Thanksgiving and I did a tasting.  We are having a sit down dinner the options are a bit limited but we were able to mix menu's.  You will have a choice of a soup, salad 2 main courses for guest to pick from I did the salmon and the chicken and then a desert.  I choose to do tarts instead of cake (its has a $5pp extra charge) but they do include a 10 person cake.  The hotel is beautiful and Alejandro is extremely helpful but very busy so It may take him a few days to reply to emails but dont worry he's on top of everything.

Congrats suzanni84!  Sounds like you're all set and on top of things!  And you're so lucky to be able to mix-and-match menus!  I don't think I'm allowed to do that but we're also debating about doing a buffet to give people more options. Hmm...so many choices!  I might do the same about the cake and just go with the tarts/desserts from the menus.  What time is your ceremony?  I was thinking if it begins at 4pm and ends around 4:30pm, then cocktail hour will be from 4:30pm-5:30pm and then a 3 hour reception would mean we end at 8:30pm!  Kinda early!  Would love to hear about what others are doing with the timing.  Anyone starting cocktail hour a bit later?  Not sure what to do...thanks!

Hi Everyone,

I have tentatively booked my wedding date in August 2013 in the Beloved but I'm having so much trouble trying to arrange a group contract.  I will have guests travelling from UK, USA and Australia and the hotel seems not to be responding to my Travel Agent.  I'm using one in Australia where I am living now.

Can anyone offer any help or advice or did anyone have the same problems with the Groups Department in the hotel?

I'm really close to just giving up... and I've not even started with the wedding planning!!!

Thanks

Nicola

I'm also just going to use their DJ, DJ Mannia which I have prices on as well. I pretty much have all the prices, bouquet, cake, reception menu, decor book etc. feel free to private message me ur email and maybe we can swap info that we've gotten. it is slightly frustrating that their website isn't helpful and staff takes a while to respond to emails and I also understand that our wedding is a ways away.

Hi dmccamey!

I'm recently engaged and looking to plan our wedding at the Beloved in Feb 2014.  Wondering if you could forward me any info you have (options, a-la-carte pricing, etc).

Very much appreciated! Thanks :) My e-mail address is [email protected].

Hey Nicola, sorry to hear that your TA is having trouble getting in touch with the Groups Department!  That's so odd because my TA had no troubles and they responded fairly quickly.  I'm sure the time difference doesn't help!  Don't give up!  Did you try asking Alejandro about it?  Perhaps letting him know that you are close to giving up will at least possibly result in him reaching out to the group bookings department and see what's happening?  I hope things work out for you!  Keep us posted!

I was going to start around 4 as well because I want it to still be light enough for photos after the ceremony.  I was thinking of seeing if we could extend the cocktail hour and extra 30 min, we are having a lounge area set up in the sand and having a trio band play for 45 min. Then I was going to ask them to extend the reception for an extra hour (I'm sure and extra cost will be applies) They have the lupita lounge that stays open until midnight so I figured we could move over there if people still wanted to stay out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
