Guestbook idea for small guest count?

Recommended Posts

I ordered postcards from Vistaprint for less than $5 and customized them with "Jamaica 2013" and our names and on the back had "Our Favorite Moments" as the heading. We will then put them in our wedding album. With our welcome note we have a section called "Postcards from Paradise" with a thank you and asking them to send us the postcards when they get home and will be including an extra postcard for them. We got 100 postcards and figured it is cheaper then buying them down there and it is personalized.

We decided to go with photo guestbook puzzle. Guests will sign the back of the puzzles and we'll put them together and hang on the wall after the wedding. You can pick the number of puzzles you want based on the number of guests you have. We really love the idea and can't wait to see how it turns out.

I had 2 I did both the photo book for our coffee table as well as the mad libs which I placed on the dinner plate and had the menus on the other side.  The mad libs were by far my favorite people on the plane probably hated us because we kept laughing out loud!

Also saw these mad libs they are too funny!!!

My Guestbook is a chalkboard. The idea is that people will write their message on the chalkboard, and then hold it up and have a friend or another guest take their photo with their message on the chalkboard.  Then we'll take the images and memory card when we're back, and make a photo book out of it, with their pic's and some of our travel pic's.  So at our AHR we'll display the photobook.

Basically I'll leave the chalkboard, chalk, an eraser, and a digital camera on the guestbook table, and then people can head over there in small groups and get-er done!

I'll get my MC to explain it a bit in case people don't understand and probably print out some directions and put it out with a little frame on the same table!

What do you guys think?

I'll post a pic of the chalkboard I made for you guys to see it tomorrow!!

I was thinking of purchasing a canvass painting from one of the local vendors and having all my guests sign it then have it stretched at home so it can be hung to admire. I'm thinking all we'd need is some black sharpies for people to sign it?

LOVE THIS IDEA!!!!!

Love this idea too! I was thinking of something like that or picking up some postcards while there...just afraid I wont find something then not have a guestbook! I have also heard of people getting a Mexico (in my case) coffee table book with pretty scenic photos and people can sign where ever. So many good ideas!

I would say either black or silver sharpies depending on the colors of the painting..

I've decided to make a photobook guest book.  I want it to be fairly simple with black and white photos on white paper with lots of space for guests to sign around the photos.  It's just going to have pics of us over the years, pics of the resort, engagement photos, some artsy-type pics like the ones you see on pinterest.   I drug my FI to the beach last week to draw our initials in the sand, etc. He was a good sport!

I'm making it with Shutterfly.  It takes a while to put together but I think it is a nice personal touch and something we will enjoy looking at for years to come.

I just bought "ultra fine" black Sharpies instead of a fancy pen.  Sometimes regular pens don't write very well on glossy paper.

I made a guest book sign on card stock that I'm going to frame and place on the table too.  I looked at having one made by an Etsy seller, but spent the time yesterday and downloaded cool fonts from "dafont" and made it myself - looks nice!

I like the idea of something we can put on display though.

That's a great idea! You can make punch a hole on them and make it into a book that can serve as a coffe table entertainment :)

OOo great idea too! I'm thinking about table setting now and we loved the idea of the mad libs. That's a great way to incorporate this in there. :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
