I like the idea of something we can put on display though.

I love the mad lib idea! Would be so fun to read on the plane ride home :)

Okay.... So I loved the thumb print tree.. But wondering where to set it up for our outdoor gazebo wedding... Or any time of guest book idea. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

Also, I saw this awesome thing at the last 2 bridal shows I went to. It was a framed mirror where the guests used a pen to write their names, and it was actually an engraving pen. Has anyone else seen this?

Hi! I did the thumbprint tree at my wedding and it was a hit! We have it hanging up in our apartment now, it's like a piece of art and so fun to look at :) We simply set our canvas down on a table so that it was easy for our guests to write on.  We set up the ink pad, pens, and wipes on the table along with some flowers. Don't forget to provide some kind of wipe so that your guests don't have to walk around with ink on their thumbs. Our table was right near our escort cards so that when the guests were walking into the reception they picked up their card and left their thumbprint. So fun!

Great idea!! and thanks for sharing. :o) I don't know why I was thinking this needed to be set up at the ceremony location.. We are having a semi-private dinner at our resort.. I'll just see if they can set up a table for the thumb print tree, wipes, ink, etc... And for our At Home Reception, I'll get a Large mirrored frame from www.idoengravables.com

I also have decided on the thumprint tree and the Message in the bottle.  The Message in the Bottle notes will be read on our 1st anniversary. I also wanted to do a photo scrapbook, but think I will do that at the welcome dinner as a fun activity. I am one of the few people who still reads the high school yearbook, so I am sure I will use my guestbook and cherish it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
