Helpful Wording

My wedding is not until October 12, 2012 but I am a planner. I have been searching around for wording for many things as I like to do a lot of my projects. So I scoured the internet and want to share what I found so that other brides can save time. I will keep adding new items as my planning progresses. If anyone has any other wording that they would like to share, that would be appreciated!

Save the Date Inserts - Along with my save the date magnets, I included information about travel arrangements. I did not want it to be too lengthy.

Arrangements and accommodations should be made directly with TRAVEL AGENT NAME of TRAVEL COMPANY. In order to keep our group travel plans coordinated we encourage you to contact Nancy at your earliest convenience for  discounted pricing and availability.  A nominal deposit can be placed to hold your room. Prices include your room, all meals and airport transfers. We looking forward to sharing this special day with you!

Travel Information on our Website - For some reason, people have been confused when contacting my travel agent for pricing. A lot of people do not travel much and did not understand the prices were based on double occupancy and airfare was included (which would be very expensive as we are 10 months out!). So to help everyone I did some research and put the following on our wedding website.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS

Arrangements and accommodations should be made directly with TRAVEL AGENT NAME of TRAVEL COMPANY. In order to keep our group travel plans coordinated we encourage you to contact Nancy at your earliest convenience for discounted pricing and availability.

ITINERARY

I am having the hotel provide an itinerary sheet to each guest as they check in. My fiance and I are ever so greatful for those who will be able to attend our wedding. I found the following Thank You paragraph that I added to the itinerary.

"TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS, THANK YOU. IT MEANS THE WORLD TO US TO HAVE YOU HERE. THANK YOU FOR BEING OUR SUPPORT SYSTEM. OUR ENCOURAGEMENT. OUR PARTNERS IN CRIME. FOR LOVING US THROUGH THE UPS AND DOWNS IN LIFE. FOR BEING OUR MENTORS, THEACHERS, AND GUIDES. FORVER GRATEFUL YOU ARE OUR FAVORITE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD AND WE LOVE YOU."

I have designed and ordered my invitations. I love vistaprint.com! My 100 invites cost less than $50. If you find the right coupon code for this website you can save soooo much money.

I did not want to have response cards. Most of my friends and family are technology savvy and if they are not, I know they know how to use a phone. I spoke to a lot of my friends who had gotten married and they said a lot of their RSVP cards were never returned. They ended up having to contact the guests who did not response. I figured, since I am going to have to do that anyways then why not start by having them RSVP by email, text or phone. Saves money on RSVP cards and postage.

Here is what I wrote:

We look forward to celebrating with you.

Please RSVP by August 12, 2012 via

I am ever so grateful to those who are joining us and did not want them to get us a present. I searched and searched and then combined some sentence I liked. This is the back of the invitation.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
