AirTran told me that I either have to buy a ticket for my dress (crazy!!) or fold it into a carry on bag.    Has anyone else received this info? Not sure what to do -unless I ship the dress to The Royal - which makes me super nervous.    Looking forward to your feedback!

Hey Linz0621! I just got back! I had no problems carrying on my dress. It was in the garment bag it came in and I just put it in an overhead compartment. It was flawless traveling! I did have it steamed when we got down there just to make sure it would be perfect.

Hi Ladies! I just got back from my wedding!! It was absolutely amazing! I am going to take some time before I write my review, but if you have any questions, feel free to message me! I had the catholic ceremony at 4pm on a thursday, followed by a private cocktail hour and private reception on the albatros terrace. We had 30 people join us in Cancun. My DJ was DJ Doremixx and my photographer was Sascha Gluck. Everything else was through the resort. I worked with Katia and then Elizabeth for my coordinators. Let me know if you have any questions :)

Ok sweet! Thank you so much! We've booked him and as you know it's listed as an option so I didn't want to pay and then have that money go in someone's pocket! I've already had to challenge a random $600 on our bill which now that I've challenged it has disappeared...so I'm watching like a hawk now ;)

Same here. We haven't had the wedding yet but the DJ said he will provide cold fire works for us, so don't pay extra for those even though it's an option on the spreadsheet. He also said he would provde glow sticks, masks and other fun party items. I got a kick out of it because he said they were "free and non-negotiable". Like "Oh, I will be bringing glowsticks to your wedding, like it or not!" Can't wait - it sounds like he really knows how to get everyone dancing :)

We had balloons, glow sticks and masks- everyone LOVED them!! I have to say he is WELL worth the money! Best DJ I have heard by far- he definitely knows his business. He is great a mixing music, keeping everyone on the dance floor and following the requests you give him. Definitely A++ (we got the lighted dance floor as well, and everyone thought it was amazing).

How much guidance did you give him for music? We are not music people so I don't know what to request.. I really just want him to keep people dancing! Our crowd is about half in the 50-60 range and about half in the 25-30 range so I know we will need a variety. Do you think I can basicaly just tell him to go for it and trust his judgement? I'm sure he knows 100x better than me what to play! Right now the only thing I have on my list is our first dance, cake cutting, etc music.

All we gave him were about 7 artists that we wanted to hear. He did a great job with the rest. Once I went up and asked him to play some older stuff (we had the same age range as you and the older crowd wasnt dancing as much as the younger crowd) he mixed some Michael Jackson and some fun oldies music. So we did not give him too much guidance and he was great.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
