Joannaleigh, if you're still around...

First of all I saw your pictures on Sascha's blog - beautiful! I booked him too so I've been stalking his website for updates :)

Second, you may have mentioned this and I missed it, but how long was your mass? I'm just curious so people know what to expect. I'm hoping for an hour-ish... but we will see...

Some time ago I asked her if we needed any type of receipt since we would have to request it through our credit card company. She assured me I didn't need it that the resort has a record. And now our onsite coordinator is asking me for it! I told her Claudy said I didn't need I and sent her a screen shot of the conversation with her. Hopefully that's ok because I'd be really upset not to get a credit because we were misinformed.

On a happier note we leave in 10 days!!

Hi Emily,

I also did a site visit... what credit are you referring to? I was never informed of any credit please share :) thank you

xoxo

Hi,

Thanks! You will be so happy with Sascha! He is truly amazing. We ended up with over 600 pictures that are all gorgeous!

Our ceremony was about 50 minutes to an hour- so about the same as a regular mass. It seemed to go by so fast though!

Thanks so much for the response!

Mass time sounds perfect. I just didn't want it to be like an hour and a half and have people be irritated with it.

And yes I can't wait to see what Sascha comes up with for us! I love the ones in front of the rock background. Not sure where that is on the resort but I see it in all his pics from GCR. Any other must have shots from him that I should ask for and you'd be willing to share with me?

Hey Brides!

So I was able to get a list of the "resort's photographer" packages and costs (I attached it....hoping you guys can open it and view it).  For those brides who hired outside photographers (which are probably most), could you please look over this list that GCR offers and compare it to your photographer's packages?  And could you please let me know if it's cheaper or same or more expensive?  Or just give me any insights on what you think please?

I've yet to see the actual work from this photographer.  Hopefully I could get that from my WC, Estela C.

The rock background is down the beach. We walked to it, he took pictures the whole way. I don't know about any must have shots- we just let him have total control. I thought the pictures were going to be awful because the sun was so bright I could not stop squinting my eyes! But somehow he worked around it and we got beautiful shots. I would just say to put total trust in him, he is amazing. I did not want to walk the whole beach in my shoes so his assistant was kind enough to carry them for me. I cannot say enough good things :)

Hey ladies! I will wrote my review later today after work but the hiccup was her aisle music and they made her stand behind the table during the ceremony so her guests couldn't see the bottom of the dress and only half of her. I could tell she wasn't impressed. I immediately emailed my wc and made sure this didn't happen to me.

What are you doing for flowers? I wanted to go with the resorr but they pricing seem hight to me. I reading on here they dont charge if you meet then at the lobby or outside?

Hey, so I was wondering what you and your fiance were thinking about photographers.....will you guys be going with the resort photgrapher or outside vendor?

I got info on pricing for the resort photographer.  I attached it to this post (hope you can open it).  It's reasonable but who knows what this photographer's work is like ????  I did make a list of different photographers that some of the other brides hired from this thread.  I looked them up and sent them messages requesting package/price info.  Once I get that info, I'll compare and see how pricing is as well as how I like their work.  Hope this all works out.

I contacted:

Del Sol

Samuel Luna

Sascha Gluck

Ivan Luckie

Funever photos (I think this is the photographer that the resort uses)

I can keep you posted if you like cheers.gif

To the other brides out there.....do you recommend any other photographers that I haven't contacted yet???

Hey ladies, I leave in 5 days!! So crazy! In regards to photography, when I did a site visit we were thinking about doing engagement pictures with Funever Photos (the resorts photographer), but when we got down there and saw their work we thought it would be a waste of money. We didn't ask to see their whole portfolio, but they had quite a few pictures displayed (wedding, casual, and engagements type photos) and we weren't impressed. I had already been considering getting an outside photographer but that made up my mind. The pictures looked like I could have taken them with my own camera. They didn't have that professional/retouched look to them. I wanted to make sure we loved our pictures so we went with Ivan Luckie, and he's been great to work with to this point.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
