I love this site and I'm not getting married until July 2015 sooooo reading all these posts and different things are exciting but nerve wrecking. I have made notes and changed my mind 50 times. We are at a stand still until the 2015 prices are posted. I was wondering if the pricing was majorly different between the Royal and Gran Caribe? I love what the Royal offers but want to still make things affordable for my guests.

I watched on the webinar last month and they remodeled so the terrace doesn't have the green floor anymore.

Since I'm new to the site I am not able to view pics or videos. If anyone doesn't mind can you please email me the information chalonda26@yahoo.com

Thanks and happy planning!!!

Hey all,

This question is more for those coming from the US....

I have some family and friends coming from the US and elsewhere that are asking about transfers and companies to transport them from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. Can anyone make recommendations for that? I have no idea since we get packages in Canada that take care of that. I have no clue and would like to help out folks with that bit.

Your help is always appreciated!

We decided to do a cocktail hour instead of a dinner. We have about 65 guests coming and we want to invite everyone, not just the wedding party and family, to the rehearsal party. We are having a 2 hour reception on the beach the night before the wedding. Prices are same as the cocktail hour between ceremony and reception except it's actually a full bar.... weird right? So for $10 an hour you get 3 apps and full bar, $15 you get 3 hot apps and full bar. It also comes with some basic furniture. There won't be room for everyone to sit, but that is fine as we want people to be mingling. My in laws are generously hosting this party, and have decided to also reserve the mariachi band. Also, we timed it to end at dinner time so that everyone can have time for a full meal afterwards. As part of the royal package we get a couple's dinner on the beach and I think we are going to schedule it for that night to have some alone time together before the wedding.

I feel like all the little details are finally falling in place - only 56 days to go!!!

Are you girls getting your makeup and hair done at the resort or having an outside vendor come in and do it?

I'm leaning towards getting it done at the salon, just to avoid the outside vendor fee.....but I'm going to be taking a couple make-up lessons at Sephora before hand.....just in case.

We had all our hair and makeup done at the resort and they did a fabulous job! My mom was not happy with her make up at first and they totally redid it for her- no problem! I was very impressed with their skills and professionalism.

Thanks joannaleigh!

I was also wondering..... how much was it for bridal make-up and hair? Is there a salon right at the Gran Caribe or is it next door at the royal?

Thanks so much!!!

Thanks joannaleigh!!!!

Hi LADIES,

I'm torn between Dj Mannia or Dj Doremixx. Any suggestions? I've heard one of the two had provided cold fireworks, face masks, white balloons etc. I don't remember where I saw this so I don't remember which dj it was that was mentioned. I'm sure both of them are great DJ's and MC's, so at this point, whoever provides the fun service or fireworks and such, gets my vote.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
