Thx for sharing!  Which photographer did you guys hire?  And where did you get your flowers from?  What was on your menu?  You and your husband looked amazing and super happy!

Oh and one last question....where did u get the maracas from?  They are so cute and I love the idea of shaking them to make the bride n groom kiss.  Might have to steal that idea from you.  Love it!!!

Thank you so much for sharing your pictures! You can totally see the difference which has me very concerned.  We decided to just stay with FunEver and put more money towards our honeymoon. The honeymoon is already booked by I may need to re-evaluate our budget or something because there is a clear difference!

Where did you get the sign for your maracas? I want a sign for mine that tells people to shake it for a kiss too, I found some on Etsy but didn't love them. Your's is really cute!

Thank you @Lucyluckytoes! =)

@Mariposa6102: We hired Vallejo Photography (they're on my fb page) I LOVED all my flowers and they were from MayaFloral, they did great work and were even nice enough to fix my bouquet(from the resort) that had closed roses and they brought it back in two hours with orchids, beautiful opened roses and didn't even charge me for it! They're amazing.  Everyone raved about the food at our wedding saying that it was the best food they had the whole time we were in Cancun.  We choose the beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and a side of linguine with alfredo sauce. Our maracas were bought by a friend that knew I wanted them and bought them on a cruise when she went to Mexico. (She found them for $1 each) unfortunately, if you buy them at the resort they're $5 each. I know the flea market sells them cheaper but I don't know if you want to get to Mexico and try and go hunt some down. Feel free to steal the idea =)

@hclibby1982@ I bought my maracas tags from Etsy as well, I just asked them to change it to my colors and I asked her to add my now last name to them so they were more personal.  They were super cheap and I thought they looked really cute.

Let me know if you have any other questions. =)

Thanks Natalia. That was really helpful. Now I know that the extra money for a photographer is so worth it!

Hey ladies!! So far, we booked Ivan Luckie after many, many great reviews on here--his crew will also be doing our video.  Our Luxury Package comes with some pictures and a video but the reviews were wayyyy too poor for us to take a chance.  We also have DJ Doremixxx for our reception, again because of all the great reviews :) We'll be extending the reception till 10 and then hitting the bars/clubs after for a change of venue to keep the party going!

My next thing will just be figuring out the flowers.  I really want tall centerpieces but it seems like they will be pricey with or without the resort doing them--2 outside florists quoted me some crazy amounts and even with all the great reviews on Marvin from Maya Floral, he has been unresponsive after I asked him for some more budget friendly options.  guess he doesn't want the business!  if we can't get a decent price from someone, my mom will be bringing silk flowers and centerpiece risers to create my centerpieces.

We have 16 people booked already! 4 at the Royal and the rest at GCR (we are staying at the Royal so that we can use their ballroom--during our site visit, we realized how much nicer it was and how it did not smell of mold like the GCR ones did).  From what other brides have said, you can definitely make it so you spend time with guests at both hotels pretty easily so that's what we plan on doing.  we have one couple so far that wants to stay at the Marriott (to use their points) but have offered to pay their own guest passes so we are ok with that.  However, my WC Katia said that we as the couple have to pay for the guest passes in our final payment--previously I had thought that the guests purchased them themselves at the front desk, so heads up on that! :)

My wedding dress has arrived at the shop, I ordered my veil and shoes so now it's time to find bridal jewelry--any suggestions?? OH also, there is a Gran Caribe/Royal 2014 Brides thread that has been started too in case you want to find other 2014 brides! :)

Booking the Dj and Ivan, is that something that the wedding coordinator can held coordinate? Or is that something I have to handle on my own?

Wedding coordinator will set that up.  If you want to meet with the dj b-4 the wedding make sure you let her know.  Dj will ask you what song you want for first dance, song you guys will make your big entrance to, father & bride dance...etc.  I had Doremixx for dj & yes their good. No complaints. Good choice.

I want to clarify Mike Cantarell who does the video (which I have not received yet) uses "Mexican Wedding Photos" for photos.  Pictures were terrible.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
