2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

I have two outside guest so far and they are paying for their passes. It will have to go through me since the resort changed their prices and will honor the old price for my wedding.

Hello Ladies - I have been following the blog since I got engaged this past May and I can finally say that I booked my date!!! So very excited to start the actual planning! We have already negotiated the group rates at the Gran Caribe and The Royal and just awaiting the contract so we can get the ball rolling.

Date: May 24, 2014

Location: Gran Caribe Chapel

Time: 1pm | we really wanted 4pm but all the saturdays at 4 were booked up in April and May :(

Thx for the info.  Could you explain a little bit more about what you mean that the "have to go through you"?  Does that mean you have to put in the order and your guest will be paying you back?  How did you ask your asking?  I'm going back and forth whether I should ask them to pay for it and if so, how to be polite about it.

When I was told about outside guests need day passes, I was under the impression that it was $99.  Is that the price that the resort is honoring?  What's the price now?

We got engaged in our trip to Mexico last April and we are getting married June 2014... I'm so happy I found this forum because I had sooo many questions, right now I'm getting all the quotes from Katia. I want to do the Catholic ceremony at the amazing chapel but still thinking about our reception.... I want to see pics and get as many ideas possible!!! Thanks!!!!

We paid for our guests day passes (they're actually locals who live in Cancun so I argued the cost because they weren't coming to hang out at our resort for the day and we're staying at a rival resort) because technically it's their reception meal etc... You're not asking your other guests to pay for their reception meal so you wouldn't ask them either. Now if they come and choose to hang out and use the faculties all day perhaps figure out the difference between the prices of the reception etc (food, cocktail hour) for your guests staying at other resorts vs the guests staying at your resort and suggest they pay the difference? They don't have to know the cost per person...you figure that out and then say "hey, are you planning to come use the pool and restaurants all day? The resort requests you pay $10 in order to take advantage of all their facilities" type of thing...and you pay the rest. Does that make any sense? Lol ;)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
