2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

If you do the site visit you'll have to let me know what you think. I'd love to go but at this point I'm just to scared and I'm trying to hoard my vacation time because we're going to be GCR for 5 days then doing a 2 week honeymoon!!  Although leaving the boys at home does sound tempting msnwink.gif

I did get my contract, I signed it and returned it a few weeks ago. Both my ceremony and reception locations aren't listed on the website as being available on 2/7 at 4pm so I think I'm all set, I know they can change it though, it says it in the contract. I'm just hoping they don't.  I ordered my save the dates already so regardless I'm getting married there on February 7th even if it's in the lobby, haha JK I hope!  My coordinator, Estela, seems to be better than most. She emails me daily with answers to any questions, updates and pictures. I've been VERY lucky!

My coordinator is Estela too :) how do you like her? I find her to be very helpful and informative but to the point ! What sorts of questions are you asking her? What kind of pictures has she sent you? I am getting married on January 25. My FI and I went on vacation there in February. Loved it !!!

I'm so happy to hear you went there and loved it!

Estela has bee great and trust me I ask a lot of questions and make sure I clarify everything so I can have it all printed out when I get there and avoid any extra charges.  I didn't like the standard cake that came with my package so I wanted a different cake and asked her if I could have each layer a different flavor (she said yes and free of an extra charge!)

I've asked her for pictures of the reception site and shown her pictures of flowers I liked but wanted tweaked a bit to see if that could be done.  She's sent me examples of different arrangements.  If you want something that isn't on the website, I suggest asking, so far she has been able to accommodate everything.

Right now I'm waiting to hear back on if they can tweak the centerpiece I like a bit.  I was going to do flowers from an outside vendor but my FI wasn't a huge fan of the $330 fee especially since we're leaving 2 days after the wedding and everything will go into the trash, he does have a valid point, so we're trying to compromise on something that will look nice but be economical.

@ LaurenandDaniel Im about to make my final payment, did you have any problems with the 'final' bill? Ive read that alot of brides did.
Not a problem, but we went pretty simple. Bringing our own decor and flowers. Not a lot of additions other than Catholic package, dj and pictures! We have 70 guests. Alejandra was great in making adjustments as our number of guests changed too! I think it helped that I've been on this forum since November. I had no surprises...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
