HAHA that is even more funny if you knew my family who would have been staying there! They would have said nothing but felt so out of place...

We had a full mass as well and it didnt add too much time to the whole ceremony- maybe an extra 5 minutes. But they are definitely not required.

Thanks so much! That's helpful info. I would like to incorporate some of these, but I am particularly worried about our non-Catholic friends who aren't used to hour and half long weddings :)

My wedding coordinator is so frustrating! We are trying to make our final payment and nothing seems to be easy. Lol. I have myself and 5 bridesmaids getting updos and my mom and 3 aunts getting regular hairstyling because they have short hair. On the real resorts website they are listed separately and it's a price difference of $30. I listed them this way on the final info sheet. I get the invoice back and she charged us for all updo. So I sent her a message explaining what we wanted and she responded with "where did you see a price of $40?". I responded with copying and pasting the salon pricing from the site and telling her that's what I did. No apology or anything she just says ok so you want 4 of those? So definitely look closely at your invoices as you get them and double check everything!! Can't wait to get in contact with our onsite coordinator! We met her when we did our site visit and we really liked her.

I'll let you know how it goes.  When I called them, they informed me that they don't have closets (wth)and the employees only have drawers. Lol! I advised them that I will be carring on my dress as if it's a jacket because I'm not willing to give up my carry on (it's bad enough you only get one check-in).  I may not have a choice and will have to carry my dress on my lap but I don't trust checking it in and I'm not putting it in a small ass suitcase so hopefully it works out and they don't try and charge me for it as an additional carry on. ..... I'll keep you posted. =)

Thanks, I would really like to know how that turns out. Keep me posted and Good Luck girl!

Sorry I can't help you there. I can't believe there are airlines that don't let you carry on your wedding dress! That's ridiculous! Can't they make an exception considering you are getting married? Or maybe even let you pay for the extra carry on item (being your dress)?

Well the thing is, I don't think my big poofy dress is even going to fit in the overhead compartment, and they claim that they don't have any place to hang it, so they had the nerve to suggest that i check it...that really burned me up cause lord knows if it were their wedding dress they wouldn't be having that! I don't know what i'm going to do yet.

Hi Lesley,

Which buffet did you request? I had to tell her which one I wanted before I was quoted. But the PDF sheet had prices listed and I think only a handful were more expensive. I was told to add $10 for each guest. So, for the first 30 guests it's $25 and the remaining will cost $40. We chose the international buffet 2. We were also told minimum of 50 guests.

When I had asked for buffet option price, I hadn't asked for which specific buffet, as I was unaware of the different buffet options. (She didn't send me the option list until recently). And she had automatically told me the crazy expensive price... hmmm, i'll asked her again. I really want to do the buffet option!

Are any of you brides traveling with fragiles and breakables? My centrepieces are glass vases and i'm extremely nervous to pack and travel with them. Any suggestions?

Hi BeachBumLesley,

I am bringing down some wineglasses as a gift for my girls. I am quite nervous about it but I put my clothes all around them and some bubble wrap. Bubble wrap everything! And if you can, try and bring it on your carry on so you know they don't get thrown around like dolls!

Yikes this is why I'm following up all cost related emails with extreme clarification and making her say she confirms my billing expectations.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
