Drinks~ I told Patty I wanted blue drinks and she said no problem cause I have these cute straws with starfish on them. I also picked 2 dishes. I just told her what I wanted because I had no ideas what the menu said. I also asked for chicken nuggets for kids. I am concerned about length of reception and heat. July 5. So I am going to look at inside location and hang out outdoors on July 1st day we arrive. I told her I will then decide. She says no problem to it all....ladies does that mean there may be fees for things? Do they tell you yes with out stating cost?? I have chosen an outside photographer. He is family friend and does AWESOME pics. So guess I have to pay $350 fee. Does anyone have pics of there tables, flowers etc??? Please help. July 5 fastly approaching

Hey ladies,

So I finally put my final payment yesterday and everything is booked!!! Elsa was really great at breaking down everything with me over the phone (which is the BEST method of communication just so you know- she will cover all your bases!!). She made sure to confirm each and every single detail so that they don't overcharge or undercharge you.

I also found out that my onsite coordinator is Flor. Has anyone heard anything about her??? I really hope she is easy going and nice. I can't wait to get married already!!! It's just 27 more days!!! eeeeeeeeeee! lol

So we got the Firedancers for the reception where we walk from the Villas Terrace to the beach for the show, we only paid the outside vendor fee for the videographers and we even got our signature drink. Got 2 entree choices and because I have family that are Indian and strict vegetarian, I also got a separate 3 course Indian vegetarian meal to accomodate them. It took quite a bit of convincing and waiting around to get what I wanted, but I succeeded. All I had to do was call and Elsa was great about it. The email wasn't working for me so that is the secret with Elsa if any of you have to deal with her.

Now...to find out how Flor is!

Good ladies! Once you get to this point, you can feel some relief and think about how beautiful your wedding day will turn out!

She is lovely. Very soft spoken but so nice and informative. She gave me a very nice tour of all the venues at each resort and sat down with my fiancé and I to discuss packages and extras. I followed her around for two weddings. Ha she is very creative and detailed !!! I hope that I am assigned to her :)

Floral pics are all available on the website, but I had our WC provide some pictures of the basic table setting. Message me your email address and I'll send them to you. It's the all white standard and personally I think it looks great and won't be upgrading to color linens. Uploaded pictures aren't visible to everyone on the boards (myself included). I will say that the flowers don't look super impressive on their website PDFs, but I looked at some pictures from my photographer's blog and was kind of able to tell which bouquets were which from their list. I think the resort's photos just don't do them justice vs a good pro photographer. I am not using an outside florist just because it wasn't in the budget and I'm not super picky about that. I am doing my own centerpieces when I get there. I'm buying vases in Mexico and the bridesmaids will just put their bouquet into the vases at the tables so they can serve double duty. Then I'm just sprinkling some sea glass and shells on the table which i got cheap from save-on-crafts.com.

That is so exciting about the signature drink! I never would have asked because I figured it'd be a fortune. Now just to figure out a good themed cocktail. My theme is sort of bipolar between seaglass and fish. I did not order special straws but I did order a ton of those little cocktail umbrellas :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
