2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Barcelo Maya was one of my choices as well.  As much as I like the Barcelo's resort more than Caribe, I can't really say no to this gorgeous chapel!
That's exactly why I still have my heart set on Gran Caribe but my FI is not too fond of it :( I haven't been able to find pictures of the chapel of Barcelo ( I know nothing will top GC chapel though)

They have the true touch flowers online as well!  Here's a link to the ivory boutonierre, but they have other colors/options.  If you sign up for their emails you receive weekly coupons as well.  I put my bouquets together with a pair of strong scissors (to cut the stems), a hot glue gun, ribbon I already had, and the 5 stems I purchased.  We bought the boutonierres there, which are 50% off at the moment, so $1.50.  If I find anything else like this or see anything that is a neat tip/trick once I get to GCR I'll be sure to share it with you girls!

Emily11386, I'm not much of a DIY bride so after searching through numerous sites, I got mine done by Concepts & Technology. They're a company in the Philippines so I communicated with them through email (they speak english) and could not have been any more happier with my invitations. The quality of the invitation feels like actual passports, not like paper or even cardstock and they were about $3ea invite, which included everything you see in the picture I attached. Here is a link to their page with more examples of their work- http://conceptstechnology.multiply.com/?&show_interstitial=1&u=

Babigirl21, I'm working on our OOT/Welcome bags right now. They include net drawstring backpacks as beach bags, survival kit w. 1st aid kit and meds and ear plugs and crest mini tooth brushes and electrolyte packets, playing cards, mini inflatable beach ball, hotel key/tip card holder with a mexican spanish translation guide. Not sure if I should fill it with anything else. I originally planned on filling it with more things that I find once I'm there but now I'm not so sure if I'll want to do so when the time comes. haha.

Awesome choice of items! Did you them on a whole sale online or regular local stores?

Hi Ladies! I'm in the process of choosing a resort! I have a question about Gran Caribe as it is one of my top choices! Does anyone know if there is a set-up fee for outside decorations that you bring from home?
Hi BeachBumLesley !! I am trying to choose a resort too. What other resorts do you have on your list ? :)

Hi Lesley!  Nope, there should be absolutely NO fee for bringing things from home.  I have already explained to my coordinator that I made my own flowers and such, and she said ok great.  It's when you have outside people start dropping things off or doing things for you that you incur the outside vendor fee.  My WC even said she'd set-up all the things I bring for me so I don't have to worry about it!  :-)

These are the save-the-dates I made for us (well one I messed up the address on so I didn't actually send it to our guest).  I made them on zazzle.com - they always have sales and coupons so they were only $.73 each.  The postage was $.80 each, which is a little pricey ($.50 per stamp because the cost of postage is included) but worth it because it incorporated a photo of us.  It was a great way for me to share my TA's info too.  I sent these out 7/8 months prior to my wedding.  Every guest we have attending went through our TA and is staying at the GCR.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
