2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

hi ladies. I don't know if any of you are able to answer this or not. the website is really hard to figure out. my husband and I are looking at renewing our vows next year (2014) but our anniversary falls on a Monday. I gather this is considered their symbolic ceremony. what I'm wondering about is how far in advance you have to arrive since you aren't doing a legal marriage ceremony? the next possible "anniversary" date for us would be that Friday but we aren't looking to pay $400 extra just because it's on a Friday. there doesn't seem much point in having an anniversary celebration that doesn't fall on your anniversary. we would be a small group of probably only 6 but it seems the packages all have minimums of at least 10. it would be fun to do everything - ceremony, cocktails then a reception but if they would nickel and dime for a small group of 6 I'm not sure it would even be worth it. thanks for any suggestions. any recommendations if we're looking at October 2014, when would it be a good idea to contact the resort if this is the one we ultimately choose? I'm actually looking at 3. this one, the Royal and Dreams Cancun but I'm hearing it's full of kids and we would be an adults only group. thanks again.

Hi Ladies-

Also new to the thread and planning a date of 11/02/13 at the Gran Caribe.  I am having a really hard time deciding which resort to book for our actual stay.  The Royal looks amazing but we have 1 child that will be 14 at the time of the wedding and I just can't imagine asking one family to stay at a seperate hotel!!  Help, I have read mixed reviews on the actual stay (rooms, amenities, etc.) at the Gran Caribe versus the Royal.  Any feedback on the hotel itself!!  :)

I would call them. Sometimes she even answers the phone. You definitely have to light the fire under her to get what you need. But when she does answer, she can be helpful. How is your planning coming along? Are you visiting the resort beforehand?
I'm just waiting for the answer now. I haven't finalized anything yet. I don't think I will be doing the site visit that's why I'd like to get as much info as I can. The brides here have been so awesome!

Hi! I am in the same situation. I will be having one 2-year old. I would love to stay at the Royal if we are having only adults. I decided to stay at the Caribe because I want everyone to stay at the same place so it's easier for me to manage things and don't have to worry about leaving some guests out.

Hey ladies I'm wondering what you are doing for centerpieces. ..the resorts cheapest centerpiece is $95usd and I think that's highway robbery! !
That's how I feel! All their center pieces look so simple, yet so expensive. I'm planning to bring my own centerpieces. I figure it doesn't have to be fresh flowers. But if u decide on the flower, you can shop around with outside vendors.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
