2013 Gran Caribe Real/ Royal Cancun Brides

Recommended Posts

Lori,

For my guests flying in from Texas, they will pay about $500 roundtrip for flights. The room rates we got iwth the TA are pretty much the same as you can find online. The only difference is she got us $50 for the first $1000 spent, and then $50 for each $500 after that. The lowest grade room at GC will be just shy of $1000 per couple for four nights. So, a little less than $2000 per couple for four nights.

Thanks for the info! Hmm see that worries me because I don't want my guests paying no more than 1200-1300 the most. I'm wondering if its the resort, the location (Hotel Zone) or just Mexico itself. :( I don't know what to do. Just for a site visit this summer I'm getting quoted a ridiculous amount.

Us and our guests are paying just about $520 (jetblue) from NY in July. For the rooms we worked with Wendy who got us group rates by blocking off rooms. Those rates differ by which hotel (either the royal or gran caribe) and how many people you have in your room. They weren't cheapest rates I've seen (for instance my sister got a lower rate with flight/hotel on priceline than the group rates are), but the one good thing is they lock in the rate for you so in case the price of the hotel goes up you get that lower rate. I guess like anything it has its pros and cons, but that's the route we went.

We went down for a site visit the end of November for 3nights/4 days and paid just under $1200 each. We stayed at the royal.

It's hit or miss w/ the prices....1 of my friends paid less then 1k! (895) for each her boyfriend and herself for 6 days @ the resort, but i've been looking for that deal and cant find it. Most of my family and friends have paid anywhere from 1200 to 1600. It's def hard to even negotiate w the resort. They were quoting me more then expedia was showing for just the resort stay!! What might also be more expensive is the time of year you're getting married :( Dont worry your family and friends will make it happen!! There are def cheaper resorts so it's not Mexico or the Hotel Zone, it's Gran Caribe...

Let's try that again....even our wedding guests who were not staying at either resort hung out with us at gran caribe into wee hours, after the wedding and reception. By the way our wedding was on 9/4/12. Half the guests stayed at Royal, others at Grab Caribe. About 4 stayed at outside hotels.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
