Recent brides: when did you hear from the WCs?  I heard it's a month from your date, which I'm under now. Just want to know if other brides are in the same place! Also, if you can tell me what the "final details" email entails, I'll be able to relax a bit and collect that information so I'm prepared for their email. Thanks, girls :)

Same thing happened to me. About 20 days out I emailed them and was like.. hello?!? and they responded almost right away to get everything in order.. it only took a few emails back and forth and was settled in 24 horus.. so no worries.. it will get done, but I would advise emailing them at this point.

Thanks very much for the responses, ladies!

I just keep reminding myself what we've all read over and over again: they're the professionals, they handle weddings ALL the time, they know what they're doing and it WILL work out.

Kassi 22: read your review, it was great! Do you have any last minute advice looking back?? Thanks!

Also: has any read reviews of the resort's spa? I forgot to book someone to do my hair, and I need to know if it's too risky to just go w/ the onsite spa. Thanks!

I heard the spa was really good- esp if you have pictures, they take a little longer than normal but they apparently match photos exactly! However, as far as makeup goes, I heard that they use really poor quality makeup so it is recommended that you bring down your own products to have them apply (i am planning on doing this)

Thanks for sharing.  I am super annoyed because I have guests leaving next week, but I have not received my estimate or a confirmation that we can have the welcome or rehearsal dinners.  I need to let people know where to meet us before they leave (we are giving out our welcome bags at these dinners) so I am getting a bit nervous.   Hopefully I hear soon.

Be prepared with a backup plan if any of your events are outside.. I wasn't .. which for me is odd as Im usually on top of stuff.. but I figured it would have been perfect weather.. it was not. So.. that said, the day of was a bit chaotic. I have to go back through the pictures and videos as I don't even remember certain things!

Also. Be flexible and don't worry about not having everything ironed out beforehand .. .honestly. .they told me I had appointment for the spa.. they didn't.. but they accommodated me on the spot... I was told that a bar would be open as I was planning on having a welcome party there.. it wasnâ€t.. had to make a last second change.. asked for rehearsal dinner reservations weeks before..they ended up making it.. the day before..

Just go with the flow, relax and things will work out...

We were told to book early because things were starting to book up.  Then they change the date by 2 whole days and tell us that's what happens when you book so early. @#$%&*!!! We've searched other companies but now the prices are WAY more than our group pricing we had with Transat at the minimums for group booking with these other companies are too high for my group that is flying out of Calgary. We could have people fly to Toronto to get in on the group booking through that gate, but that would add $800 per person on top of the package price.  This is a complete DISASTER!!! We are at the point where we are going to have to tell everyone that they just have to go book their own thing and probably expect to pay way more than we told them on the invite.

Has this happened to anyone else? I'm just so angry, I needed to vent!!!  Transat..... BOOOOOO ON YOU!!!!!  }:(

OMG!! They just did this to me too!!

They changed our December dates from a Sat-Sat to Thurs-Thurs, which completely screwed over some people's vacations plans and arrangements, not to mention now people need to take at least 6 days of vacation, not 5!! Luckily our wedding date was on the Tuesday so it is not affected and will still work. But frustrating!! Our invites used the Saturday to Saturday dates, and so now for all the guests who might not be booking through the group, I have to contact to let them know we will be staying at different dates if they want to align.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
