Hi Joanna, I will have to join the FB group. Could be a good source of information.  That is so excited that well be down there at the same time!  I am sure well run into each other!  I'll just look for whoever is in a wedding gown on the 1st!  I have been using my TA as well but to no avail.  I'm to the point of just giving up lol and whatever happens, happens.  I have a zillion decorations items that will make any place look good so I just can't decide on locations for anything.  I want to do the beach ceremony, but the FI wants the Lazy River for privacy.  I just really want the huppah and the way the beach looks.  What are you doing?  And also, the reception dinner I can't decide between the Calabash and Aunt Ruby's.  I suppose the more sensible option is to do it indoors, but again I love the pictures of the receptions at Aunt Ruby's.  I have recently read that smaller groups can rent the Calabash (most recent was 50 people). So good luck!  I only have 38 people (which includes our photographers who are flying down.)  I would love to do a private reception but A) I don't think I meet any minimums and B) I don't want to spend $800 to privatize it.  I am still wavering back and forth but I think we plan to do just a dinner and then do the reception reception at the Blue Moon Bar.  What is your timeline looking like right now?  I am pushing my ceremony as late as possible so that its hopefully cooler.

Thanks Allie!  I will take that into consideration.  Did you privatize the Calabash?  How many people did you have?  Thanks!

Hi Lana! So our timeline so far - on Saturday, we're going to do welcome drinks at one of the bars, Sunday rehearsal dinner at the Mediterranean restaurant, then bonfire on the beach Sunday night with the sky lanterns, etc. Monday, we'll start the ceremony at 5:30, right now, I have a private dinner planned at Calabash for 6:30pm, then we have the DJ (Kevan Stewart) until 10:30pm, then we'll head to the Disco to party till we pass out. LOL  Tuesday, we're planning a Recovery Brunch in the morning, then my FI and I are getting picked up by our photographer to head to Negril for our TTD photo session then we'll meet our group at Rick's Café then head back to the resort... Whew, I'm already tired thinking about it.  You should come by my events so you can see how everything is set up, since you'll be there!

I really have to do the reception part inside, it's going to be sooo hot outside and looking at some videos of folks who did theirs at Aunt Ruby's all I see is people sweating through their clothes.... so I didn't think that was a good idea!  Oh and when you join the FB group, there are two of them, make sure you join the "sisterhood of the traveling starfish" one - that one has been the most useful to me! :)

Hi Joanna, Whew that is a lot planned!  I am so jealous that you're going to Rick's Cafe.  I really wanted to visit there but trying to coordinate everyone has been a slight nightmare.  We have people flying in from California to Pennsylvania and trying to communicate plus coordinate arrivals and tours hasn't gone smoothly.  I did manage to get a Catamaran to Margaritaville for Friday but only half of our group has signed up.  I would love to swing by and see your wedding set up!  You're more than welcome to come by mine too, for entertainment since you'll already know how things go.  I think we have slightly changed our tune about having the reception at Aunt Ruby's.  We are now going to do the Mediterranean restaurant since its so small we will reach capacity with just our group, basically getting it private without having to pay for the fee, and its indoors.  We are do a similar rehearsal night to you.  Dinner at the Japanese restaurant, then bonfire on the beach, and releasing of the wishing lanterns on Wednesday night.  Every evening (Sunday-Saturday) we are telling our group to meet at the Lobby bar at 5:45pm as a rendezvous point  and am going to try to get us group dinner reservations at some restaurant every night.  Kinda told guests if they wanted to come great, if not no worries.  Just know most of our group rarely gets to see each other so should be a party all week. Well feel free to reach out and contact me via email if you want to compare details or simply chat about this exciting time!  Just PM me and I can shoot you my email or vice versa.

Just in case anyone is curious, I was quoted for a private reception dinner on the beach.  I haven't seen a post about it so I thought I'd share.  Its $55/person and is set up on the beach right in front of Aunt Ruby's.  The dinner has a set menu.  I can forward you the document they sent me if you just send me your email address.

Hi everybody! My name's Cassie, and I'm new to this thread.

Was originally looking at Grand Bahia, but not strongly leaning towards IBRHS!

I was hoping somebody could email me information on 2014 pricing, as I was only giving information about the Rose Hall Beach.

Thanks so much!! Anybody else getting married here in November 2014?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
