So.. that said, the day of was a bit chaotic. I have to go back through the pictures and videos as I don't even remember certain things!

Also. Be flexible and don't worry about not having everything ironed out beforehand .. .honestly. .they told me I had appointment for the spa.. they didn't.. but they accommodated me on the spot... I was told that a bar would be open as I was planning on having a welcome party there.. it wasnâ€t.. had to make a last second change.. asked for rehearsal dinner reservations weeks before..they ended up making it.. the day before..

Just go with the flow, relax and things will work out...

What bar were you having your welcome party at?  I'm also nervous about the spa appointment now!  I'm thinking I should call directly to confirm.  I made 8 appointments!

Any past brides who used the DJ from the hotel for the ceremony?  How did you provide music for them?  I was told they fade the music as needed and an iPOD was fine, but I'm not sure how it all works.  We are having a vendor for the reception but I am nervous about the music for the ceremony.

I'm considering doing a play list AND CD for backup.

Any tips would be great!!

I sent it back to her that same night with a few questions. That was about two weeks ago and I still hadn't heard back from her. I sent a fallow up email and she said that she was reviewing my questions and would be back to me shortly. That was about a week ago. I know they do weddings all the time and I'm trying not to freak out, but the lack of response is becoming extremely frustrating.

Hey girl!!! Getting married the day after you!!! Congrats!

However, as far as makeup goes, I heard that they use really poor quality makeup so it is recommended that you bring down your own products to have them apply (i am planning on doing this)

Good to know!! I have 8 hair appointments and 1 make-up (myself) booked!!  I'm sure they do a ton of updo's as all 3 resorts share the spa.

I thought you get more attention from them when the date gets closer.  They are very busy but the whole situation is annoying.  Trying to get things done without having confirmation on questions is impossible. I also did my last details sheet and haven't heard back yet.

I just started making arrangements and explained to her that I had to move forward and I'd appreciate their cooperation.  I can't even get a confirmation on desserts!!!  I added what I wanted to the menu cards and they are done.  Oh well, I hope that's ok!  I have to start getting things done.  I have my bach next weekend, so it leaves 2 weekends before we depart.  I can't wait any longer!

On a better note 25 days until we leave for Jamaica!!

This is also where we ended up having you after dinner reception. It was closed off to the public until 10:30.

Hello All,

New to this whole posting thing... been lurking for a good year, but I am getting married on July 4th, 2013 at the Suites and am figuring out that the only way to get answers are on this post!

Does anyone know if they allow you to have your wedding reception at Aunt Ruby's even if you don't meet their minimum number of guests according to their wedding information sheets?  I believe you have to have a minimum of 50 people according to that page, and I only have 38 but am still hoping to do the reception there.  I can't get a hold of the wedding coordinator so I am just going to go ahead and set everything up for the reception there.  Also, anyone know how many people they seat at those round tables at Aunt Ruby's?  On this forum it says 10 but looking at pictures of people's receptions there I am count only 8.

Thanks !!

Just in case anyone is curious, I was quoted for a private reception dinner on the beach.  I haven't seen a post about it so I thought I'd share.  Its $55/person and is set up on the beach right in front of Aunt Ruby's.  The dinner has a set menu.  I can forward you the document they sent me if you just send me your email address.

Hi Heather,

I gave a CD to the wedding coordinator during our meeting which the DJ used. I had everything in order on the CD of how it would play during the ceremony and a print out of what would play during each part of the ceremony (while guests were being seated, while the wedding party was walking down the aisle, while I was walking down the aisle, while we were signing the certificate, and after we were pronounced husband and wife and walked back down the aisle). The wedding coordinator said she would make sure that the CD worked with the DJ's equipment, and we also had an iPod as a backup, but we never needed it. The DJ got everything exactly right and faded the music out as needed.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
